He was born Jan. 31, 1912 at Yorkton, Sask. He is survived by two sisters, Bertha Pohl of Chilliwack and Martha Gienow of Regina, and several nieces and nephews. He was born Oct. 2, 1958, in Prince George.

A student and hockey player, he played hockey with the Chilliwack Colts 1978-79 and for the Nelson Maple Leafs in 1979-80. He is survived by his parents, Neil and Verna Sutherland of Proctor, B.C.; four sisters, Barbara (Mrs. Robert) Joe of Sechelt, Pat (Mrs. Jim) Brown of Willow River, Linda (Mrs. Gary) Chilliwack (1978-79), died Aug.

Oscar Fritzke of McClusky, N.D., and Herbert Fritzke of Yorkton, Sask nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Schmuland of Windsor, and Mrs.

Bertha Hait of Kelowna. He was predeceased by his first wife, Tofila in I960. LANCE ALLEN RANCIER I-ance Allen Rancier of 504 Yale Rd. died Aug. 16 at Sumas, Wash.

He was a sheetmetal worker, an avid sports fan and also played hockey. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Kathleen Rancier of Chilliwack; and two brothers, Robin I-orne and Jay Regan both of Chilliwack. He was predeceased by his father, Robin, in 1980. JOSEPH THOMAS ROBERTS Joseph Thomas Roberts of 45550 Hodgins died Aug.

14 at Chilliwack General Hospital. Funeral service was held Aug. 24 in the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home; Rev. Henry Roderick officiated. Burial was at the Anglican Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 24, 1904 at Indianapolis, and lived in the Chilliwack area since April 13, 1911. He was a butcher in retail meat stores in Chilliwack and a member of theBPO ElksI.odgeNo.48.

He is survived by his brother, Jim Roberts of Ab-botsford and was predeceased by one sister, Francis, in June of this year. PETER JACOB ESAU Mr. Esau is also survived by three stepsons, Peter Ens of Vancouver and Abe and Tom Ens of Codette, Sask. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anna, in 1976 and two infant sons. Goretz was born June 24, 1903 at Rippin, Poland. Formerly of Germany, she lived in Chilliwack since 1954. She was a member of the German Pentecostal Church and a housewife. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Daase, and Hertha Goretz both of Chilliwack; one son, Erwin H.

Goretz also of Chilliwack; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Albert and Heinrich Brandt both of West Germany; three sisters, A'bertina Mier of Brazil, Emma Westfal and Luzi Widmer both of West Germany. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1942 and brother, Edward, in 1943. JOHN FREDRICK TOLMIE John Fredrick Tolmie of 434 Young Rd. North, Chilliwack, died Aug. 8 in Chilliwack.

Funeral service was held Aug. 12 in the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home, the Rev. J. T. Horricks officiating.

Burial took place at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Tolmie, Jim Tolmie, Joe Tolmie, Marvin Tolmie, Robert Engstrom and Bill Tolmie Jr. He was born Math 31, 1923 at Muirkirk, and was a logger. He is survived by his wife Joyce of Merntt; four daughters, Mrs Dorothy Topley of Chilliwack, Mrs Penny I-ane Tnxld of Prince George, Roxanne Tolmie of Chilliwack and Lisa Tolmie of Chilliwack; six sons, Aaron of Duncan, Uwiny of Merntt, Donnie of Merntt, Brian Painter of Duncan, Earl Painter of Vernon and Casey of Chilliwack; and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by six sisters, Mrs.

Eileen Gardner of Roseburg, Dorothy Toop Stewart of I Vegas, Margaret Engstrom of Harrison Mills, Norma Bailey of Vedder Crossing, Doreen Smith of Chilliwack, and Ir-rainne Iiterman of Whistler five brothers, William of Sardis, Jamie of Sardis, Clarence of Vedder Crossing, Marvin of Cultus I-ake and Joe of Princeton; and he is also survived by I-tnora Huffman. He was predeceased by Ken Tolmie. WESLEY RAYMOND CARTMELL Wesley Raymond Cartrnell of 10205 Young Rd. Chilliwack, died Aug. 19 at Chilliwack General Hospital.

Pallbearers wre Don Wells, Bert Wells, Carl Frayn, Art Trouzeau, Ryan Cartrnell and Ron Cartrnell. He was born June 23, 1903 at Westburne, and had lived in the Chilliwack district for 76 years. He was a retired farmer, and a bandsman in the Salvation Army for 50 years. He received his 50-year pin for long service in the band. He is survived by his wife, Mae; three sons, Ieonard and Barrie Cartrnell of Chilliwack, and Eric of Toronto, one daughter, Mrs.
