P. Jones, Chairman, Purchasing Commission, Parliament Buildings, Victoria, B.C. 5810 Mayor, Chairman Sworn In Mayor T. T. McCammon and park board chairman Jack Parker, both of whom were elected by acclamation November 27, were sworn into office this week by city clerk Glen Minter.

Although new aldermen will not be sworn in until next month, it was decided to officiate for the Mayor and Mr. Parker since the municipal act rules that successful candidates should take the oath of office within one month of their election. The aldermen were not elected until December 7. A city official said that the municipal act now sets the annual election dates earlier than in the past. "That's why," he said.

"we've had this trouble." Another candidate chosen by acclamation, school trustee Fred Leary, was not sworn in. The school act does not call for it," said the official. Yes, It Snowed Christmas Day It was barely enough to powder Rudolph's red nose, but it DID snow on Christmas Day. In parts of the district, the white stuff came down long enough to settle. The weather recording station at Vedder Canal, however, recorded it as "mixed snow and rain." During the past six days, over two inches of rain have fallen, with temperatures about normal for this time of the year.
