Mr. Hill's sister, Mrs. S. A. Hamilton of Covington, said Monday she had not seen her brother since he passed through Covington on his way to Boston five years ago.

He was found penniless with only his clothing, a birth certificate, a Hutchison, library card and an empty wine bottle, Pueblo County Sheriff Edward Siefford said. Mrs. Edwin Brown, who manages a jewelry store in Covington of the few remaining characters in the novel about the "South Maple Street gang," said she remembers Mr. Hill as "the bad little boy in a book of children's pranks and misbehavior." Mrs. Frances Boyd Calhoun, who died shortly after the book was, published neighbor in of 1909, Mr.

MEADOR Firestone Maintenance Man, Ill Seven Months, Dies Robert J. Meador of 2428 Whitney, maintenance department employe at Firestone Tire Rubber Co. almost 20 years, died at 7:55 last night at Baptist Hospital after a seven-month illness. He was 54. Mr.

Meador, who was born in Hickman County, had lived here 20 years. He was a member of the Frayser Cumberland Presbvterian Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Naomi Meador; two sons, William F. Meador and Robert Gary Meador, and a daughter, Bobbie Cheryl Meador, all of the Whitney address, and four brothers, Earl Meador of Obion, F.

E. Meador of 3136 Larkspur Drive, Howard Meador of Columbia, and Marvin Meador of Dallas. Memphis Funeral Home is in charge. RUSSELL E. MARTIN Services Will Be Today For Longtime Memphian Services for Russell E.

Martin of 856 Rayner will be at 10 this morning at SpencerSturla Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Mr. Martin, who was 65, died at his home at 3:30 Sunday morning after a long illness. Born in Indiana, he had lived in Memphis since he was a child.

He was a Presbyterian. Before becoming ill he worked as night clerk at the Kimbrough Towers. Mr. Martin leaves his wife, Mrs. Barbara G.

Martin, a stepdaughter, Mrs. L. E. Patmore of Atlanta; and five step grandchildren. J.

W. Dortch Services for J. W. Dortch, former. captain on the Memphis Fire Department who died Sunday night at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, will be at 10:30 this morning at Memphis Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Sharon, Tenn. Cemetery. Mr. Dortch, who was 65, had worked at Western State Hospital Bolivar, Tenn. since he retired from the Fire Department in January.

TECUMSEH, May 4. --(AP) Joseph Layton, 57, president of the Tecumseh products, makers of refrigeration compressor units and other products, died Saturday of a heart attack. He was a former vice president of International Harvester. J. E.

TRUELOVE Rites In Alabama For Former Memphian Services for J. E. former resident of struelove, Manassas who moved to Cuba, two years ago, were at yesterday afternoon at Causey Brown Funeral Home in Cuba. Burial was in the Cuba Cemetery, Mr. Truelove, who was 77, died at his home on Sunday morning.

Born in Houston, he lived in Cuba most of his life before moving to Memphis 18 years ago. Before he was disabled by a stroke two vears ago he worked at the Coca Cola Bottling Co. plant here. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Nannie E.

Truelove; three sons, Robert Truelove of Sacramento, R. E. Truelove of Cuba and James R. Truelove of Hughes, three daughters, Mrs. Nola T.

ROBERTS Cuba Farmer Of 99 Leaves 142 Direct Descendants J. W. Roberts of 1248 Dovecrest Road, a longtime farmer in the Cuba community of Shelby County, died in Shelby County Hospital at 8:15 last night after a long illness. Mr. Roberts, who was 99, left 142 direct descendants.

Mr. Roberts often talked of Memphis during the late 19th century and recalled cutting timber in the downtown area on the site of The Auditorium. He was a member of the Embury Methodist Church in Shelby County. He leaves four sons, C. J.

Mrs. Knight, who was 57, died at 6 yesterday morning at Methodist Hospital after an illness of about four years. Before she became ill Mrs. Knight worked in several Memphis restaurants as a waitress. She was born in Water Valley, and had lived in Memphis about 25 years.
