Spray Operators Reminded They Must Have Permit PIERRE (fft Secretary of Agriculture Ray Fitzgerald reminded Monday that all aerial and ground commercial spray operators must hold current licenses issued by his department they can operate.

The Department of Agriculture will furnish applications to anyone desiring a license. The applications must be completed, notarized and returned with a $5 fee. Persons initially applying must pass an examination given by the department or a county agent. Fitzgerald also said job report forms furnished by the department should be submitted each spray operation. He said the reports are valuable in that they indicate the extent and effect of herbicides and pesticides on South Dakota crops and livestock.
