Four The Bradford Evening Star, Friday Evening, June 15, 1945. Beth Deagen Married To Lieut. Donald Hulse Duke Center, June daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lieut.

Donald Hulse, son Center, were united in o'clock in St. Bernard's ceremony was performed Miss Sally Deagan, was maid of honor for her sister and Miss Virginia Hulse, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. Thomas Deagan, Akron, was best man for his brother. William Schorman acted as The bride wore floor length dress of white net and taffeta with a long veil. She carried a white prayer book and gardenias from which hung streamers of white daisies.

The maid of honor and the bridesmaid wore pale blue dresses with matching hats carried bouquets of mixed blue and white flowers. They each wore a string of pearls, a gift of the bride. Mrs. Deagan, mother of the bride. was attired in a black dress and hat and wore long blue gloves.

Her corsage was of pink carnations. Mrs. Hulse, mother of the bridegroom wore a blue and white print dress with white accessories and a corsage of red carnations. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to 60 guests at the Emery. Mrs.

Hulse is a student nurse at Chestnut Hill hospital, Philadelphia. Lieut. Hulse is stationed at Hondo Field, with the Army Air Corps. Scout Service Pins Presented At a dinner meeting of the Bradford Girl Scout Council, and Girl Scout Leaders held Wednesday evening at the Pennhills Club. service pins were presented to Mrs.

Waddingham, members of the Council. Mrs. Raabe, chairman of the Public Relations committee, reported that 12 girls gave 48 hours service at five and ten cent stores in the city during the month of May at War Bond booths. The girls sold a total of $361.95 in stamps and bonds. Girl Scout Council and leaders will sponsor a "mile of pennies" during the last week in June, proceeds of which will be used to buy War Bonds for the purchase of a permanent camp site.

Mrs. William Vernon, chairman of the "Plan of Work" committee, urged all troop work sheets to be in the Girl Scout office by Monday, June 18. Mrs. J. Russell Case, Commissioner, announced the Girl Scout house in West Cordon street will be closed during the month of July and the first two weeks of August.

Junior and Senior dances will be discontinued until fall. Steel plants of the United States employed an average of 571.000 during 1944. The business meeting was conducted by the president, Mrs. Curtis Tracy. Two new members, Mrs. Bogdes and Mrs. Giraitis were introduced and members who celebrate their birthday in June were congratulated.

Mrs. Horace Simmons introduced the guest speaker. Dr. Dan Berry who spoke on "The Seeing Eye Dog." He told how the institution was founded, and the procedure in obtaining a Seeing Eve Dog. Guests at the meeting were Mrs.

D. L. Rathfon. Mrs. Donald Platt and Miss Mary Hinters.

Wesleyan Service Guild Holds Meeting The Wesleyan Service Guild of the First Methodist church met last evening in the prayer room. Geneva Thomas, president, conducted the business meeting. Marian Gentzel led the discussion and the devotions were in charge of Mabel Whitney. The theme of the program was. "Juvenile Protection." Helen Smith and Tina Burgland were hostesses.

J. Deloe, solemnized Tuesday, June 12, the First Methodist church. was performed by the Rev. Dearth is the daughter of Mr. Uniontown, Pa.

U. S. Army on June 1 at Fort Dix, N. Mr. Deloe had been in the service five years and was stationed for the past 34 months in Ireland, England, Africa, Sicily, Corsica and Italy with the 52nd Fighter Group of the 15th Air Force.

He is a graduate of Bradford High school and of the Armament school, Lowery Field, Denver, Colo. Mr. Deloe holds the Distinguished Unit Badge. American defense medal. EuropeanMiddle Eastern service medal and the Good Conduct medal.

Garwoods Married 40 Years By BETSY NEWMAN Mr. and Mrs. Thomas S. Garwood observed the 40th anniversary of their marriage on June 6 at their home, 77 Euclid avenue. The local couple was married in East Bradford on June 6, 1905.

Mrs. Garwood was the former Fannie Hannahs of East Bradford and Mr. Garwood formerly resided in Bridgeton, N. J. The couple has three children.
