THE COMMERCIAL APPEAL, MEMPHIS, FRIDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 18, 1959 43 Hale Eulogized At Final Rites To Do Says Minister Of County Political Leader Friends and neighbors, former county government associates and city and state dignitaries paid final homage yesterday to E. W. Hale Sr. at funeral services in the Whitehaven Baptist Church. The church was almost filled by 500 white and Negro mourners.

Gov. Buford Ellington attended. Mr. Hale died early Wednesday morning at Baptist Hospital. He would have been 85 Jan.

BETTY YARBROUGH Widow Dies At Age Of 72 After Long Illness Mrs. Betty Louis Wagoner Yarbrough of 3469 Vernon died at 9 last night at St. Joseph Hospital after a long illness. She was 72. Mrs.

Yarbrough was born in Oakland, and had lived most of her life in Memphis. She was the widow of Marvin Yarbrough, who died 33 years ago. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She lived at the Vernon address with two daughters. Mrs.

Isma Monasco and Mrs. J. H. Hunt. She also leaves two sons.

MISS CORA SMITH Dies At Home After SixYear -She Was 85 Miss Cora Estelle Smith died at 3:40 p.m. yesterday at her home, 768 Richmond, after a six illness. Miss Smith was 85. She lived near Paris, until 1901 when she moved with her family to Memphis. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

She lived at the Richmond address with three sisters, Miss Ginevra Smith, Mrs. Elizabeth Lewis and Mrs. S. W. W.

Myracle and the half sister of Harold Myracle Myracle, all of Mem- Heart Attack Fatal To Frank Zoccola Farmer Is Stricken While Gathering Holly A trip into the woods to gather Christmas greenery ended in death late yesterday afternoon for Frank Zoccola, farmer of 4357 Macon Road. Mr. Zoccola and his wife, Mrs. Lucille Zoccola were hunting holly and cedar off Macon Road Arlington. They planned to fashion them into Christmas wreaths to sell.

As they were getting into their truck to return home, Mr. Zoccola was stricken with a heart attack. He died soon after in St. Joseph Hospital. Mr.

Zoccola, who was 58, was born in Genoa, Italy, came to the United States in 1912. He was a communicant of St. Michael Catholic and a member of the County SChurch Growers Association. Besides his wife he leaves son, Louis Frank Zoccola of Nashville: three sisters, Mrs. Madeline Rizzi.

McCorkle came to Memphis when a young girl. She lived here until 1953 when she and her husband moved to Mexicali. Mr. McCorkle is in charge of the Mexicali branch of Hohenberg Bros. Co.

He was formerly vice president of Lyon Cotton Co. here. Mrs. McCorkle was a member of SLindenwood Christian Church. much of her spare time hunting and fishing.

Winkley was 79. Born in Chicago, Mr. Winkley had lived in Memphis for about 40 years. He was communicant the Little Flower Catholic Church. He leaves, his wife.

Butler Robert Parker Butler, former All-American football player and owner and operator of Continental Hatchery of Memphis at 2304 Central, died of a heart attack in his living quarters adjoining the hatchery at 6 last night.

Mr. Butler. who was 68. was a 1914 graduate of the University of Wisconsin where he played tackle on the football team. He was named an AllAmerican in the fall of 1912.

He was horn in Montclair, N. and had been a Memphian since 1927. An avid sports fan, he was a member the Big Ten Club composed of followers of Big Ten Conference teams. He leaves his wife, Mrs. LilMan E.
