I I I 'I i- I I High school days of the 30s, 40s and 50s came back in memory at the recent greaser dance sponsored by the Girardville Good Times Club (former bicentennial committee). School colors, sweaters, pennants on the wall and other decor told of the bygone days when teenagers of yesteryear played and cheered for such alma maters as the Butler Township Wolverines, Girardville Blue Aces, Shenandoah Blue Devils, West Mahanoy Township Golden Rams, Gilberton Ducktowners, Frackville Mountaineers, Ashland Black Diamonds, Mahanoy Township Purple Larks, Mahanoy City Maroons, Ringtown Mustangs and the great basketball school of Conyngham Township at Aristes. There were also reminders of those favorite after -school hangouts where the kids made lots of memories, places like the Golden Moon, Blue Ace, Liza Brenna's Ice Cream Parlor, Leahy's Restaurant, Scully's Diner, Fetter's Dairy Fountain and the Green Diamond (Finn's). The Good Times Club lived up to its name in the greaser gathering, and they have other activities in the planning, including outdoor dances and a picnic for younger folks.

On the greaser night committee were Bernie Grady, Lois Metzinger, Amelia Hart, Grace Cuthie, Sally McMonegali Lenore Vaughn, Frank Mazlokes, Jim O'Donnell, Tom Downey and Jim Tharp.
