Department responded whafcom sheriff The following is reported by the Whatcom County Office: A color television set is reported missing from a residence at Sudden Valley Jury finds man guilty Rodney Graybeal 25 Marietta has been found guilty by a Whatcom County Superior Court jury of unlawfully possessing a firearm Graybeal was convicted in February 1976 of second-degree burglary and had been ordered not to possess a firearm Graybeal was arrested this March 10 after Bellingham police officers searched his car and found a 38-caliber pistol under the dashboard At the trial Graybeal did not contest havfng the gun but he said he had bought it a short time before in order to sell it and make some money While waiting for the buyer to came up with the money the gun had been kept at house according to testimony Graybeal argued that he possessed the gun only technically and that he had not been told he was not supposed to have firearms as a convicted felon Graybeal was' sentenced to 15 years in prison on the burglary count but is out while an appeal of that case is pending sioners that the program was needed for Whatcom County and that hopefully it will continue on a permanent Unger said Commissioner Larry McIntyre still disapproves of allocating the money for position He said the disagreement evolved from some between the two offices have a credibility gap between the office and the probation Unger said Unger said the commissioners disapprove of some of the policies by which the probation office is run That office is headed by Conrad Thompson Unger said the commissioners would use their power over budgets to try to bring varying policies into line but that in this case it did not seem right to cut job in order to make a point Watch Your Savings Multiply New lanes open being in physical control of an automobile while intoxicated: His license was suspended for 60 days and a restricted driving order was issued The petition of a boy 16 charged with second-degree burglary was continued for one year without a finding He is charged with breaking into a home on the Everson-Goshen Road He was ordered to make restitution and to do 50 hours of community service work A boy 13 was made a delinquent -ward of the court and placed on official probation for criminal trespass He remains in the custody of his mother and stepfather He was ordered to make restitution and
