0. O. Barker Builds a Fine Program. Shelbyvllle, Aug. 20--Two hundred teachers registered Wednesday moraine at the opening session, of the annual county teachers' Institute being held In th Shelbyvllle high school building.

Opening work was held with only one interruption. Miss Finney, special music Instructor failed to arrive, so Wednesday morning session opened with singing led by Miss Katherine Garvln, supervisor of music in the Windsor schools. Wednesday afternoon music was omitted and regular meetings were moved ahead. Opening lectures by G. P.

Handle and W. R. McConnell were well received. Mr. Randle, formerly superintendent of the Shelbyville schools, is appearing at a Shelljy county teachers' institute for the seventeenth time and had a warm recep- i from his many friends.

A force of workmen Is busily engaged putting half-mile track at fair grounds In shape for the races to be held during the fair this fall. The west side of the track has been la use as thoroughfare by cottagers at thu park and was considerably cut up.
