That is different. Most truly, ALBIN PUTZKER. FOR ROBERTS' CREDITORS. Judgment for $603.50 has been given by Judge Ellsworth against Florence A-1 Branin. as administratrix of the estate of her late husband, Charles Branin, in favor of Frank Leach, as receiver in the proceedings of Captain William Roberts.

Branin during his lifetime loaned Roberts about $1,600, and when Roberts was about to go through Insolvency he assigned over to Branin some claims, upon which Branin was enabled to realize a considerable sum of money. When Roberts failed the other creditors found out about the, claims assigned to Branin and made the assertion that these claims were properly assets of the estate and that they should all be allowed to share in them. Suit was brought against his estate, with the rsult that the widow must turn over to the cred itors the above mentioned sum. Joseph Sousa, and Mary Sousa, a husband and wife, both insane, with three small children were taken to 'the Receiving Hospital this morning and will be examined tomorrow afternoon before Judge W. H.

Waste and probably be ommitted to an asylum. Both are so far affected that each of them see and hear strange sounds and believe that some sort of a has been cast over them by enemies. Sousa is a rancher and has been conducting a dairy on San Pablo creek in Contra Costa county. Both husband and wife got to acting so queerly that Giyilly they were induced to go to the sanitarium of Dr M. Enos at Eighteenth and Grove streets, who charged them $100 a weefc for them- selves and their three "children the eldest of whom is but twelve years of affe Edward R.

Rowland, a neighbor of the Sousa family, seeing that at such a rate all of their property would be dissipated, swore out a warrant before, the district attorney charging them' with insanity and this morning they were taken to the Receiving Hospital, where they are. now confined; Rowland will also petition the courts for letters of guardianship on their persons and estate and has given this part of the matter into the hands of attorney William Burke, of San Francisco. The value of the property, or-4heir interest is not known, but it is estimated at about $15,000. Sousa has a lease on a piece, of dairy property for which he pays J60 month. He lives not' ISr from Redohdo Park, back of Berkeley and has a lucrative business which pays well.

Of iate, however, he has become melancholy and is afflicted with suicidal mania and has threatened to kill himself on several occa- sions. The doctors' are baffled at the pecu-Jiar phase of the case of the husband and wife, who have so acted and reacted upon each other as to have 01 tneir one sees ana nears strange things and the other will see them too. In speaking of his malady this morning Sousa said: "I don't know what has made me sick! but I think some enemies must have done something. People can do bad things with medicines. My wife is sick, too.

I have been trying to sell my place and go away from where my farm is, but I have not been able to do it. It is terrible for any one to do such a thing and make me sick." The three children, Mary, Emma, and Joseph- have been left temporarily at the sanitarium until the disposition! of their parents and the guardian- snip proceeaings have been concluded. Sousa is apparently a man of about forty-five years of age. i CIRCULAR TO SCHOOL PRINCIPALS The following Circular has been issued: "Office of City Superintendent of Schools, Oakland. April 27.

April 27. Mrs. Patrick Qulnn, aged 50, was mysteriously burned to death in her home in this city this morning. The fire broke out at 5 a. and when it was quenched the body of the woman was found beneath a door which had burned at the hinxes and fallen on her prostrate form.

Absolutely nothing is known as to the origin of the fire. The dead woman was in her night clothes and evidently had attempted to escape when she fell, where her horribly charred remains were found. The case has a suspicious look to the police who are rigidly investigating. The husband of the dead woman separated from her some time ago and went to Ban rran Cisco, where he is engaged in business. LONDON, April 27. A dispatch from Antwerp to the Daily Telegraph states that King Leopold, the Count of Flanders (brother of the King) and the Bel gium finance Ministers are debating the advisability of making the Count of Flanders' son, Prince Albert, the legal heir-presumptive to the throne of Belgium by obtaining Parliamentary sanction for the Count of Flanders' renuncia tion, already agreed upon, of his claims to the succession. It is feared however, that the Socialists in the Chamber of Deputies will violently oppose the measure especially as it is also proposed to transfer the Count of Flanders' allowance of $40,000 yearly to Prince Albert who is poor. The Socialists and Progressives want to suppress this allowance on the ground that as both King Leopold and the Count of Flanders are millionaires they ought to provide for the heir presumptive out of their; private funds. 1 Returns From the East.
