an end at 9:30 Saturday morning when the child was found drowned In Richland Crack 100 feet south of the West Main street bridge The child had been- missing since 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon Tracks at the hank of tho creek were found early Saturday morning After the creek bed had boon dragged for more than an hour Joseph Herzog Janitor of the City Hail draw the child's body to shore with a number but was then outdistanced the quintette going In the direction of Mascoutah Not much later Mueller saw them tear down the road toward Belleville He then notified the police here Patrolman Relchling saw the big red car cross tbe Public Square He commandeered a machine and followed overtaking the oar after' a' chase of six blocks At the Central Police Station the youths admitted the offense and could give no plausible explanation Mr Mueller did not desire to prosecute and the youths were released oi payment of $152 for can and gasoline They were severely lectured for their company six weeks ago in Texas HELD GUILTY OF ROBBERY OF DRUGGIST It took a Jury in the Circuit Court Friday afternoon only eight minutes to find Thomas Kinder 28 years old guilty of robbery with tha use of a deadly weapon The punishment for the offense is indetermedlate term of not less than ten years to life imprisonment Kinder wee accused of having held up A Meyerhoffer East St Louis druggist
