Nothing to indicate that Edward Thomas, prominent Seven Springs man who disappeared at Goldsboro last week, has been here has been learned by the local authorities. Goldsboro reports say alleged moonshiners, known to have held a grudge against Thomas, are suspected of having disposed of his person or body. A local angle of the story is difficult to secure because of temporary trouble with the telephone lines to the Seven Springs section. BIG PIG FOUGHT MEN WITH CHOLERA VACCINE. The fee for issuing a commission to a justice of the peace is $2.00 instead of $4.50. I am returning your check and other papers which you sent the Governor, herewith.

An ice cream supper for Armenjan relief benefit was given at ahoma School Friday night. Threatening weather kept away some patrons but those present contributed generously; $37 was cleared. Quarterly Meeting. Rev. Abner H.

Outlaw, pastor of the Free Will Baptist Church, attended a quarterly meeting at the EXackjack Church, a strong country church near Simpson, Saturday. He will return Saturday evening. Funeral of A. Einstein. Pallbearers at the funeral of Adolph Einstein, prominent former Kinstonian, in Wilmington recently included ex-Judge George Rountree, Parker Q.

Moore, Sigmund Bear and others. The funeral was conducted by Rabbi S. Mendelsohn and burial was in Oakdale Cemetery. Death of Mr. Cunningham.

Thomas R. Ounningham died iat his residence a few miles from the city late Friday. He was a wellknown farmer and one of the most industrious persons in the county. Mr. Cunningham was ill of pneumonia some time ago, and it is understood complications resulting therefrom caused his death.

He was a native of Lenoir County. He is survived by his wife and several children. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Bernard P. Smith, pastor of Gordon Street Christian Church, officiating.

COMMENDS PHYSICAL TRAINING IN SCHOOLS. His attention called to the fact by a newspaper article, Dr. G. M. Cooper of the State Board of Health has taken occasion to compliment the local school authorities upon the inauguration of physical training in the schools.

Chairman J. W. Goodson of the trustees is in. receipt of a letter from Dr. Cooper commending this step.

and Mrs. Brinkley of East Washington Avenue, was put down on the records as a curiosity. He appeared to enjoy the operation. While his beauty will not be enhanced, his health should be. Dr.

Dan. Parrott will be at the clinic Tuesday. COMMODORES LOSE. The local Commodores lost to the Winterville Highs in a basketball game at Winterville Friday night. The score was 35-12.
