ORDINANCE NO. 8272 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CHARGES TO BE PAID FOR USE OF THE ALTON CITY DUMP, ESTABLISHING HOURS FOR SAME, AND PROVIDING FOR APPROPRIATE FEES TO BE PAID THERE- Obituaries Jackson WHEREAS, the City of Alton has recently erected a fence around a portion of the Alton City Dump and which fence includes gates which would control and regulate the use of the City Dump at appropriate times; and WHEREAS, due to recent legislative enactments by the Genertil Assembly of the State of Illinois, It has become necessary tor the City of Alton to Incur a largo expenditure of money to convert the Alton City Dump Into an approved sanitary landfill operation and In the future the City of Alton will expend additional funds for the purpose of surveillance of the use of the Alton CHy Dump and In the general operation of the City Dump In a manner; ami sanllnry I WHEREAS, It Is the finding of the City Council of Alton thnt It would bo In the best Interests of the Clly of Alton to regulate the use of the Alton City Dump during certain periods of time nnd to charge a fee to certain persons using said City Dump; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALTON: Section I. That the Alton City Dump and the facilities therein shall be open and available for use from Mondny through Friday between the hours of 7:00 A.M end 6:00 P.M. and on Saturday of each week from 7:00 A.M to 12:00 Noon.

Section 2. That fee tor the use of snld Alton City Dump by all persons other than those specifically prohibited by this ordinance shall be as follows: A) All trucks nnd other vehicles, excluding milomoblles having capacity of no greater than one-hnlf ton, shall be charged $1.00 per load. B) All trucks nnd other ve hlcles, excluding automobiles having a cnpnclly of greater than one-hnif ton shall be charged $2.00 per lend. C) All automobiles shall be authorized to use the City Dump at no chnrge. D) That, all persons, firms nnd corporations, doing business exclusively within the city limits of Alton ns private garbage refuse haulers may purchase hauling and dumping license of per year for one truck and $25.00 per year for each nddltlona 1 truck; and that, all other per sons, firms, and corporation doing business in the City Alton, but not In the prlvnt scavenger business, may pay i dumping fee of $25.00 per yen In lieu of the fees provided fo In Subsections (n) and (b) this Section 2.

Jackson, 56, 212 Carolina was dead on arrival at Alton Memorial Hospital Thursday at 3:30 p.m. from an pparent heart attack suffered when he was on his way home rom work at Owens-Illinois Glass Co. Mr. Jackson, who had been failing health, collapsed at Pearl Bozza streets and was aken by ambulance to the hospital. He was a saw filer at Owens Illinois with 25 years service.

Mr. Jackson was born In Maries County, June 9, IfiOR, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson. He had lived in Alton since 1940 and was married Oct.

19, 1944, at Pleasanton, to the former Merle Bartels. He was In military service with the Sea Beas in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Onlzed Club, Glass Bottlers Blowers Association Local Alton Post 12fi, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. Surviving beside his widow arc four brothers, Lloyd and Molphus, St. James, George, Brayton, Iowa, and Charles, Florissant, and a sister, Mrs.

Maurice Lennox, Fldon, Mo. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. The body Is at Smith Funeral Home, Alton, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 in Messiah Lutheran Church. where he had been a patient several months.

Mr. and Mrs. Vanata arc en route to Fairmont to attend the funeral. The body Is at Ford Funeral Home, Fairmont, pending arrangements. Surviving Mr.

Vanata beside his brother, Paul, are a son, and three sisters, all of West Virginia. so and Flora, Miami, Fla. A brother preceded him in death. The body Is at Smith Funeral Home, Alton, when? services will be held Monday at 11 a.m., by the Rev. Howard Todd Taylor, pastor of Calvary Southern Baptist Church.

Commission houses and toeal traders went on the buying side after the opening which was depressed by a government announcement that the July 91 maturity date would be accelerated on 8,647,000 farm-stored bushels of the 1963 soybean crop new under reseated price support loan. The acceleration will have the effect of making farmers sell their 1J63 beans sooner. Soybean oil and meal also worked higher exerting a bull ish influence on beans. Grain futures prices moevd mostly fractionally in moderate early trading. There was little demand for offerings.
