Theodore John Williams, of 164 Swatara road, Shenandoah Heights, lost control of his car and knocked over seven iron guard rails on Route 54, a mile and a half west of Mahanoy City Saturday nignt. Jacob Herring Jacob Herring 75, of 513 Morris street, Frackville, died suddenly Saturday afternoon while visiting at the home of his mother-in-law Mrs. Elsie Wert, 507 West Third street, Birdsboro. He was a former member of the Shenandoah Police Dept. and was affiliated with a detective agency at the time of his death.

He also was employed by the Borough of Frackville in the sewer maintenance department. He retired from the Birdsboro Corp. in 1960. A baseball player of note he was a member of a number of semi-pro teams in the area. He was born in Shenandoah, a son of the late George and Margaret (Williams) Herring, and a member of the Good Will Fire Co.

Surviving are his widow Sara E. (Wert), a son Jacob Herring in Frackville, one grandson and a sister Carrie, widow of Albert Baker, of Shenandoah. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Shalkop Funeral 433 East First street, Birdsboro. Rev.
