July 11 In sight of many of their companions, who were unable to reach them in the blizzard that raged at the time, Albert Smith and Albert Herylg went to 'their doom a few weeks ago in Johnson's Harbor, formerly a cod fishing station In the Aleutian archipelago.

The two men went out In a rough sea to try for codfish and were overtaken by a northwest gale. Their dory, after plunging about and filling with the icy seas, went down with the men clinging to the gunwale. News of the accident was brought down by the schooner Csarlna, Captain Koehler, arriving yesterday from Northwest Harbor with 186,600 codfish. The winter has been unusually severe In the. Williamson.) Our Idea has always been that justice pure and simple was the foundation principle of our government. The political expediency of the revolutionary measures, which resulted in the Independence of the colonies, 'was not considered germane to the question. It simply was taxation without representation Is Contrary to every sentiment of Justloe; Is therefore tyranny and will not be tolerated by any enlightened people. That principle has not changed. That sentiment still lives.

PER80N AND PROPERTY. The right to protect person and property through the exercise of the bullet is not a question of concession or expedlenoy. It Is one of Justice, founded on liberty, equality and law as ordained and established by "We, the people of the United Since women are acknowledged to be part of the people, and enumerated in the basis of representation and citizens the eame as men are. It Is oontrary to the spirit and text of the Federal Constitution to hold them political minority. If these was but one woman in the United States who desired to exercise the franchise, she should not be denied that right, because the right to vote inheres In cltlsenship regardless of numbers or sex, or condition other than legal disability or mental Incapacity.

NO ONE BORN A VOTER. It Is true, no one Is born a voter. AH are born the same helpless babe with the right to become men and women without hindrance. The right to trade, contract, marry and vote Inhere in the Infant, but can be exercised only when of legal age. The natural right to "life liberty and' the pursuit of happiness" Insure an that win protect these rights.

-The suffrage, Is certainty one of the; fundamental articles of our system of government. INHERENT IN THE PEOPLE. The Constitution of Calif onoja the same as other states makes all political power Inherent in the people. Women are one-half of the people. The text of Article defines the conditions on which male citizens shall be entitled to vote, but this is followed by no prohibitory clause defining the conditions on which female oitlxens shall not be entitled to vote.

The word male before the word citl-sen In this article is not a positive restriction against female suffrage, but a subsidiary statement under certain conditions that male citizens shall be entitled to vote. RIGHT OF WOMEN. On the principle that government Is of right or it is usurpation, and since the right of government (in the United States) can be exercised only by the ballot, women citizens have the same inherent title to the ballot that men have. Furthermore, every bill will play "TJie Only Way" during the latter part of his engagement. The VfeanilVI I s-e we.

All yesterday afternoon men in the employ of Henderson searched In vain, for the horse. Wilber Henderson and two boy companions drove to Dimond canyon from Oakland, having taken out the horse and rig without the knowledge of the Henderson family. Several miles above Frultvale the boys got out to shoot squirrels, leaving the horse standing In the roadway. The firing of the small rifle evidently ale of seats win open In a few days. LOTTIE GRANGE COTS TWO JEN presented to the Legislature has In Its preamble these words: "The people of the State of California represented in the Senate and Assembly do enact as follows." The women are not represented, because they had no voice In electing the representatives.

It is conceded by our ablest Jurists that no such phrase as virtual representation is known in law or constitution. It Is a subtlety and Illusion, wholly unfounded and absurd. The women suffragists of California claim the right to the franchise by the same authority and for the same purpose that men claim and exercise' it. SEATTLE, July 11. So, therefore, every Bond that we nave issued is sequre, for the Debenture Bonds represent actual cash invested, thus we feel justified in saying that tthe col-! lateral security which we have deposited with the Mercantile Trust Company 'of San Francisco is of unquestioned value and the security absolutely first-class for every $1000.00 Debenture that we sell we have deposited with the Mercantile Trust Company $1500.00 in forty-year 5 per cent Gold Bonds and $2000.00 preferred stock. It is our purpose to extend the Northern Electric Railway until it has become one of the most important electric systems in this country, and it is for that reason that we are now offering our Debenture Bonds in convenient series of $500.00 and $1000.00 so as to reach the purse of every mant ing to collect rent In the amount stated. CHARR0S CLUB JINKS and myself are all residents of California and, our standing Placing the securities of first-class corporations direct, to the public has been in successful operation for many years in France, England and in the United States. In the West, on the Pacific Coast in particular, the plan is practically a new one and for that season it is my purpose to give a few reasons why we are now introducing this system on the Pacific Coast, especially California. There is no reason why the public should not have the advantage of direct contact with responsible public in purchasing securities which insures their- protection and at the same time enables the investor to receive an interesting income which is generally larger than can be received through the channels of Savings Banks, Real Estarte investments and mortgages. Take for instance, the Northern Electric Railway Company.

This property is in successful operation, our present mileage consisting of 130 miles. We are running eight trains daily both' ways from Sacramento to Chico. Interurban electric railroads today are opening up sctfrte of the most, inviting fields for safe investments. Our road is in the Sacramento Valley, an inland empire in itself, and my associates and myself feel that our money could not be invested in a better enterprise. We have shown this confidence by already investing about $6,000,000.00, but like all enterprises of this nature it is customary to sell securities and instead of restricting outselves altogether to the old channels of underwriters and bond concerns, we believe it is a wise and broad policy to give the public the advantage of wjth us at absolutely no risk to itself and at the same time the investors obtain a good rate of interest.

A Bond represents a direct mortgage on any kind of property. The mortgage is held by a Trust Company instead of having the mortgage held by one person or Company. The Bonds are issued and the mortgage, as it were, is divided up into parts "which enables the public to purchase in sums which they can conveniently afford. A Debenture Bond or Secured Coupon Note has the advantage over a Bond for the reason that it is a better security, for not only is the bond given as security but the controlling stock of the Company represented by the preferred stock as well as the individual personal liability of the stockholder is involved, for tinder the California State corporation laws the stockholders are liable, so vthere-fore the Debenture Bonds carry three elements of strength. 1st.

Mortgage or Bond, i 2nd. The stock represents control. 3rd. The personal liability. Some Railroads are built by what are known as construction bonds.

The bonds are sold before the road is constructed and the money paid on the Bonds is put the I There are only a few people who are blessed with perfect teeth. The majority have either lost many or are losing what they have Jeft, and they are confronted with the proposition of supplying these missing teeth in some form. Heretofore there was nothing better offered by the leading dentists of this country than the partial plate or ordinary bridge work. The partial plate fills the gap formed by the missing' teeth, but that's about all that it does. It Is a poor excuse for nature's teeth.

The ordinary bridge work, as practiced by the average dentisl is a tor-turesome piece of business from start to finish. No man would submit to wearing this sort of work for an instant if he knew of anything better. This advertisement is to show him something better and to present the virtues of Alveolar Method of restoring missing teeth without the use of a plate or bridge work. Although this company has been and the younger Krueger was also slashed and blood commenced to flow. tBy this -time the eider Krueger the other and both finally succeeded In not only In disarming the nroman, but also In holding her until Officer Tracy arrived on the scene and then the Grange woman was taken to (the city prison.

The police have not as yet ascertained what became of the grip or dls-f covered the identity of the man who ran away with it, but there Is no doubt that before long they will be able to make discoveries In both matters. I PRISONER IN CHAIN GANG MAKES ESCAPE JOLLY MEMBERS OF THIS POPULAR CLUB TO TURSr THINGS LOOSE ON THURSDAY EVENING. "Eat, drink and be Is possibly the most appropriate expression to cover the purpose of the coming jinks at the Charros Club Thursday evening, July No efforts are being spared by the committee headed by Nlles G. Hyatt to make this event a memorable one in the annals of local clubdom. Stunts of a particularly Joyful nature will preponderate and it is understood that each member will be appropriately dealt with in a manner leaving nothing to be desired that will conduce to the general Jollification.

Paul Daniels and Reggie. Basset have charge of the musical portion of the- entertainment, and Dr. A. B. CosaU is expected to deliver the oration of the evening.

T. G. Springer and A. H. The fact that bankers, merchants and citizens in general throughout the Sacramento Valley are purchasing liberally of our Debenture Bonds (Secured Coupon Notes); is a commendation for anyone residing in California who has any money to invest. Coupons are attached to each Secured Coupon Note so that all that is necessary to be done is to present the coupon June 1st and January 1st respectively and either cash it through your banker or the Wells-Fargo Express. Should we desire to redeem the Debenture Bonds before they fall due, we pay a premium of 2j4 per cent, or in other words the moment that you buy one of our Debenture Bonds paying $100.00 par it is worth to yon $102.50. i We should be pleased indeed to recehre any communication addressed to us. It is our desire to serve the public such practicing this method of dentistry for less than five years the business of the company has grown, to such an extent that at the present time it does the largest dentistry business in the world.
