The Tigers lost to Atkinson 19-6 last year and will be seeking revenge. With 18 lettermen, the locals have the most experienced team they have had several years. 9 Coach Ray Doerr has 41 candidates out for football this year and they have been training hard for this season opener, Elden Johnsons to Note 25th Year Mr.

and Mrs. Elden Johnson of Fremont will observe their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Peace United Church of Christ in Tilden, September 11, 1966 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The Johnsons address is 1501 E. 20th, Fremont.

Nancy Jo Larson Nancy Jo Larson to Wed Lloyd Brown Mr. and Mrs. John Larson of Meadow Grove announce the engagement of their daughter, Nancy Jo to Lloyd Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Brown of Tilden.

An October 22 wedding is ned by the couple. Ann Marie Sanne Weds Gary Osborn Miss Ann Marie Sanne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murland Sanne, and Mr. Gary G.

Osborn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Osborn, were married Saturday, August 20, 1966 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. Rev. G.

O. Kebschull officiated at the 7:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony. Miss Marilyn Hatterman was soloist and Miss Anita Deckert was organist. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

She wore the wedding gown belonging to her sister, Mrs. Carl Nore. The gown was a floor length style of silk organza with empire bodice of imported chantilly lace clustered with pearls and styled with short sleeves and bateau neckline. The removable skirt fell into a chapel train adorned with applique of chantilly lace and featured an organza rosette at the back. Her elbow length silk illusion veil was held by a pill box of white daises.

She carried a hand bouquet of bunched daisies clouded with baby's breath and accented with a white cattelya orchid. Miss Paulette Sanne was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Carl Nore, Norfolk, sister of the bride, and Miss M. Patricia Jones of Bellevue.

They were identically dressed in floor length gowns of olivette chiffon over taffeta featuring a lace empire bodice, scooped neckline and elbow length sleeves with a self-fabric ruffle. A matching lace watteau train accented the back of the straight skirt. They carried hand bouquets of white daisies trimmed with leatherleaf tips and accented with yellow satin bows and streamers. Shelley and Shari Osborn, nieces of the groom, were flower girls. Candles were lighted by Susan Osborn, niece of the groom, and Steve Osborn, nephew of the groom.

Myron Osborn served as best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Leland Osborn, Plainview, brother of the groom, and Robert Kent, Lincoln. Ushers were Carl Nore, Norfolk; Leo Harvill, Lincoln; Bill Hatterman and Merrill Oelsligle of Tilden. The bridegroom wore a black tux with a boutonniere of a single daisy. His attendants wore white jackets and dark trousers and Wed Martha hoheretato.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Babcock of Dodge Center, formerly of Norfolk, announce the approaching marriage of their daughter Martha, and Richard Paul Biehle, son of Mrs. Coy Galyen. The engaged couple both reside in Norfolk where she is employed at the Norfolk Christian College and he is a student there.

A September 11 wedding is planned at the First Christian Church in Norfolk. Roy Barkdoll Wins Sales Trip Roy Barkdoll left. Wednesday morning for Omaha where he met sixty four other dealers who met their Frigidaire summer sales quota. They will spend four days: at Bemidji, Minn. fishing and golfing.

Wins Award From Read Magazine Sylvia Mollhoff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Mollhoff, placed second in the Read Magazine contest in Antelope County and received a necklace award as her gift. The title of her story was "Vietnamese Sylvia was in the 7th grade in District 114. Mrs.

Elmer Kloepper is her teacher. This contest was open to all 7th and 8th grade pupils who subscribe to the Read Magazine. Sylvia's story was an criginal one and had to contain at least 500 and not more than 1000 words. This make a grand total increase of 13 students. Of the 186. High School students, 106 are free high school tuition students from rural districts.

ASC Committee Chairman, resigned his position at the Convention of ASC delegates last week. He stated that farming operations and other business interests required his full-time and attention. He had just completed one year of a three-year term of office. The delegates from each of the county's 24 townships named Ev. erett D.

Johnston of Royal to a -year term and Wm. 0. Evans, Tilden, to complete Wilgocki's remaining two-year term. The group then selected Adolph Rittscher, Tilden, to serve as Chairman of the ASC Committee. Rittscher was elected to the County Committee for a two- year term last year.

Bus Charf, Royal, and Thomas W. Meis of Elgin were elected alternates. Jean Soulier Arrives in Germany Mr. and Mrs. Frank- Soulier received word this week that their daughter Jean had reached Germany safely.

Her trip by boat on the Europa MS was very pleasant and she was fortunate to not get sea sick. One of her cabin mates was a girl from the University of Iowa who is also going to Marburg. Jean celebrated her birthday while crossing the ocean and was surprised to have the waiters come out at dinner singing Happy Birthday to her and bringing a plate of special goodies and a flaming candle for her. She said she was sure she would never forget this birthday. For two months she will be studying at the Goethe Institute at Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

She will then go to Marburg where she will study at the University of Marburg for a complete school year. Her address is: Fri. Jean Soulier Poste Restante Rothenburg ob der Tauber Germany Jean was the recipient of a DAAD scholarship which entitles her to a years study in Germany. Election of Officers At Monday Meeting The Tilden Commercial Club will meet next Monday at 11:45 a.m. at the Antlers Cafe with the main order of business the election of officers.

All members are urged to attend this meeting. A report of the "Whatzit" Day celebration will be given. Hospital Auxiliary To Honor Babies The Tilden Hospital Auxiliary hold an afternoon party on September 17, to honor all the babies born during the past five years at the Tilden Hospital. The event will be held at the Auditorium and the mothers will also be guests. There will be a program and lunch will be served; also prizes and favors will be given.

Final Plans for Saturday Made Don't plan anything this Saturday except to come to Tilden's "Whatzit" Day celebration. Plans are complete for a fun filled day for the whole family. A full page ad appears in this issue giving the day's program. PARADE ENTRIES GROW Parade chairman, Archie Findley stated that he already has many entries and hopes for many more. The theme of old-time has been stressed but there is a place in the parade for any and all entries.

and Mrs. Larry Whitwer and son have moved from the former Vernon James property on Antelope Street to the Bill Ross home in south Tilden vacated by the Bud Marsh family. Mrs. Marie Henn moved from the Mrs. Marvin O'Dey property just north of the Ross home to the Vernon James home she recently purchased which was vacated by the Larry Whitwers.

Mrs. Selma Whitwer has moved from her farm home west of Tilden to the Mrs. Marvin 0'Dey property south of the Mrs. Mae Whithorn home in west Tilden. Mr.

and Mrs. Clifford Bossard and family will occupy the Whitwer farm and moved Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Heggemeyer moved last week from their farm south of Tilden to the former Dick Horrocks property north of the Bayne Hash residence which Sheila Bredehoft Sheila Bredehoft Joins Air Force Sheila M.

Bredehoft, daughter of Mr. and. Mrs. Don Bredehoft of Meadow Grove has enlisted in the Womens Air Force for four years. She began 6-weeks basic training August 25 at Lackland, Air Force Base, Texas.

Miss Bredehoft is a 1965 graduate of Meadow Grove High School. Her address is: Sheila M. Bredehoft, AA8528047, Flt. 35, Sqd. 3743 Lackland A.F.B., Texas.

78236 Notice We will be open the evening of home football games starting this Friday. The. Cottage four divisions: Antique, Commercial, Children, and School and Organizations. Anyone may enter and children and horse club entries are especially asked to take part. This means all the children in the area, rural and town.

The parade entries will ilne up on the county line south starting at Kohl's Chevrolet. The parade will go north to main street and then east to the last block going south, it will then go south and then back west past Manor Hall. Others on the parade committee are Gertrude Petersen, Del Peck, Chet Olin and Bud Marrs. BARBECUE TICKETS Barbecue tickets are on sale and ticket sales have been good. It is hoped that everyone will buy their tickets in advance.

The prizes being given away with the drawing of the barbecue tickets will be furnished by Tilden merchants. You need not be present at the time your name is drawn to win. DENIM AND GINGHAM Since many events during the day could be a problem to anyone dressed formally, it is suggested everyone. dress Old-time attire is welcome but not required.

Those wishing to take part in the greasy pig chase should bring extra attire. Regardless of what you wear, it looks like a day to relax and have fun. they purchased this spring. Mr. and Mrs.

Bob Heggemeyer moved during last week to the Carl Heggemeyer farm which they have purchased. The Frank Phillips family who are living in the Darrell Saxton house in east Tilden will move soon to the Robert Heggemeyer acreage east of Tilden. Mrs. Lillie Vaught, mother of Mrs. Gordon Eggers, will live in the Saxton house.

She has been living with her daughter since her return from California. Mrs. Leona Ryan has returned to Tilden and is staying at the home of Mrs. Nellie Cornett. She has been at the Joe Ryan Jr.

home in Norfolk since her release from the hospital following a leg fracture. PROUD CROXEN Mr. and Mrs. Dale Croxen are the parents of a son born September 4, 1966 at the Tilden Hospital. He weighed 7 lbs.

6 oz. and has been named Ricky Alan. He has two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Croxen is the former Mary Ann Zauner.

Grandparents are Mrs. Millie Croxen of Creighton and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zauner, Mr. and, C.

Kilmer and Leo Rutjens are great grandparents. SCHWARTING Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schwarting of China Lake, Calif. are the proud parents of a son born Sept.

2, 1966. The babe weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. and was born on his paternal grandparents wedding anniversary. Mr.

and Mrs. Wm. Schwarting of Oakdale and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Galbrecht of Ridgecrest, Calif.

are grandparents. Jerry is serving with the navy at China Lake. JONES Rev. and Mrs. Douglas Jones are- the parents of a daughter, Stephanie born September 4, 1966 at the Tilden Hospital.

She is their first child. Rev. Jones is minister of the Methodist Church at Meadow Grove and Battle Creek. REEKER Mr. and Mrs.

Gene Reeker of rural Meadow Grove are the parents of a daughter, Sheri Ann, weighing 8 lbs. 7 born in the Lutheran Community Hospital on Wednesday morning, August 31, 1966. The Reekers now have five daughters. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.

Frank Wisch of Battle Creek and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reeker of Meadow Grove. Great grandmothers are Mrs. Minnie Wisch of West Point and Mrs.

HOME JUDGING CONTEST The Tilden Business Women will have judging booths at the Auditorium and urge area ladies to compete. Prizes will be awarded for the best homemade bread, rolls, pies, and cake.

Chairman of this is Darlene Knight. Jean Hash and Toots Ashburn will host a hobby and handiwork booth. Prizes will be given for the largest pumpkin, watermelon, cucumber and egg plant. Chairman of this division is Agnes House. FLOWER SHOW The Tilden.

Woman's Club is in charge of the flower display and contest. Those wishing to know more about the entries may call the Woman's Club President, Mrs. J. C. Wilcox.

OTHER GROUPS HELP Other local women's organizations are also helping. The Legion Auxiliary is assisting the Legion with the barbecue and the Immanuel and Buffalo Creek Lutheran Ladies Aids will serve the free koolade. hO Mr. and Mrs. Gary Osborn Gary Osborn Debby Nesbitt, Cindy Nesbitt, Billie Staub and Sharla Jones.

Assisting were Mesdames Myron Qualset, John Schutt, Louis Miller, John Bierman, Walter Whitwer, Douglas Carter, Keith Whitwer, Clarence Staub and Martha Rautenberg. After a wedding trip to Colorado, the couple will reside at Randolph. The bride, a graduate of Tilden High School, attended the University of Nebraska and Wayne State College. Mr. Osborn, a graduate of Tiden High School and the University of South Dakota, taught the past three years in the Belden School system and will teach English in the Randolph Public Schools for the 1966-67 school year.

Motel Sold To Broken Bow Couple Bill and Eldora Knox announced this week that they have sold their Motel and home to Frank and Cappi Barney of Broken Bow, Nebr. The Knoxes retained the Antlers Cafe and Steakhouse and will continue to operate it. Mr. and Mrs. Barney will take possession September 16th, however, they will send a couple to manage the motel at present.

They plan to move to Tilden soon and will do some remodeling at the Motel. Frank Barney is a plumbing and electrical contractor. boutonnieres of yellow carna- tions. Mr. and Mrs.

Bernard Kvamme of Brunswick and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sanne were hosts to the reception held for 200 guests in the church parlors. At the gift table were. Mrs.

Roger Harvill, Lincoln; James Hamling, Bellevue; Mrs. Thomas Schmoldt of Tilden and Miss Cheri Lindbo of Columbus. Miss Karen Lind registered the guests. Serving at the reception were Mesdames Leonard Hatterman, Albert Chavet, Merle Owens, Alvina Lewis, Robert Wingate, Merlen Oelsligle, Robert Jones, Raymond Thomas. Wilber Mangold, Robert Kent and Leland Osborn.

Waitresses were Misses Janell Thomas, Connie Wilson, SADDLE CLUB TO RIDE IN PARADE The Antelope Saddle Club will ride in the Tilden parade Saturday, September 10 at 1:30. Please wear white shirts and blue jeans. Notice Notice The annual meeting of the Tilden Hospital Association will be held at the City Auditorium on Tuesday, September 20, 1966 at 8:00 p.m. (21-36).
