Western Kansas is quite lucky with the Ink Spots and Brown's Band of Renown visiting all in one week! Taking in the juco game at Pueblo last Saturday were Myrna Archibald, Carolyn Blake, Wilma Johnson, Harold Brungardt, Ron Deckert, E. M. Bontrager, De- Ann Hatcher and Jim Redfern. Heart Sister Week, sponsored by the Kayettes, is now in the past.

Joe McCoy of Lyons announce the engagement of their daughter, JoAnna, to Kenneth Knight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Knight, also ot Lyons. BoHvMIss McCoy and her fiance are attending Garden City Junior College. The wedding will take place June 9 in Lyons.

By DOROTHY ROE Time was when the mention of tweeds brought to mind visions of briar pipes, tramping over the moors and the bluff camaraderie of the horsy set. But tweeds have changed, along with the times, and nowadays some of the most feminine and elegant cocktail, dinner and theater outfits are made of British tweeds sheer as a whisper and light as a fluff of thistledown. In a season notable for the return of elaborate formal fashions, some of the most dramatic are done in tweeds, alone or in combination with rich satins or brocades. Notable examples are Vera Maxwell's striking evening ensem bles which combine tweed and silk brocade in tender or vivid colors She does a full length mandarin evening coat in flame tweed lined in brocade to match the long sheath beneath. Anothsr version is a short dinner ensemble in pal blue tweed and matching brocade coat lined to match the dress.

Black tweed is another innova tion of the season, used by An thony Blotta in a strictly elegan theater coat lined and faced i white wool. Other designers are employin eraona Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hairston and daughter Linda of Utah are visiting for a week with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Elmer Mansfield, 507 N.

Lowell Dalley, a senior student at Ottawa university, has completed a special project in the physics department.
