An enthusiastic meeting of the Moss-wood Improvement Club was held at the German Methodist corner of Thirty-eighth and Telegraph, Tuesday night. This club Is comprised of the property owners and. residents In the Immediate vicinity of the Mosswood tract and the primary object of the organisation is to aroua public Interest favoring the purchase of that tract by the City of Oakland and Its permanent Improvement as a public park. The general Impression is that the tract haa already been purchased by the city, but this is not the caa and th probabilities are that the tract will be lost for park purposes unless a united effort favorable to Its purchase by the city Is mad by th residents in that Immediate vicinity. The secondsry cbject of the club IS the general Improvement of th district as a residence section by securing more street lights, better streets, a modern flr department, complete school facilities.

Improved sanitary conditions and the prohibition of saloons, laundries and other nuisances. Th regular meetings of th club ar held on th first and third Tuesday even-Inge of each month at the church building above mentioned and the public generally and all persons residing In the Immediate vicinity of th Mosawood tract.
