Clarence C. Warfel in Grace Lutheran church, Miss Marilyn June Thoreson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Thoreson, Woodford, exchanged marriage vows with Jacob Goznikar, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Frank Goznikar, Ridott. The bride wore a white wool street dress with three-quarter length sleeves, a black velvet hat with white angora trim and black accessories. Her corsage was of garnet roses and white carnations with silver and red ribbon. Miss Jean Gordee, Monroe, the bride's only attendant, wore a light blue street dress with angora trim and three-quarter length sleeves and a hat of white crushed velvet.

Her corsage was white carnations with white and silver ribbon. Dean Thoreson served as best man. The mother of the bride wore a navy faille dress with pink trim and matching accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy crepe dress with navy and white trim and matching accessories. Both wore pink carnation corsages.

A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Assisting were Miss Nellie 'Larson, Mrs. Orville Thoreson and Mrs. Elmer Thorson. Guests were from Woodford, South Wayne, Monroe, Chicago and Ridott.

A dance was held at Turner hall last evening. The bride is a 1951 graduate from South Wayne high school. She has been employed by the Monroe Badger Paint store and will be employed by the W. T. Rawleigh Freeport.

The bridegroom attended Brodhead high school and is employed by the Burgess Battery Freeport. They will live at 1115 South Oak. Wels Couple Honored On 25th Anniversary Relatives and friends honored Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wels.

Route 1, with a surprise party honoring their 25th wedding anniversary Thursday evening. The three-tier- ed anniversary cake was baked by Mrs. Irvin Phillips and decorated by Mrs. Howard Lueck. The guests.

Sam Boyd were at Benton yesterday for a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoffman at which four women who graduated from college at the same time held a reunion. Mrs. Boyd and Mrs.

Hoffman were two of the four graduates. former Miss Gloria Heitz, daughter of Mr. Mrs. R. Leland Heitz, Route 2, was wedded Saturday to James R.

McGuire, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael R. McGuire. After a short wedding trip, the couple will live in St.

Herman Bischof, Milwaukee, yesterday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Lynn F. B. Tschudy, pastor of Swiss Evangelical and Reformed church.

The bride, who was presented in marriage by her father, wore a pale blue silk street length dress fashioned with pin tucking around the scoop neck, bodice and full skirt. She wore a white hat and white orchid corsage. Maid of honor. Miss Helen Zemp, wore a dress of beige lace over faille with a matching faille hat and a purple orchid corsage. James Sadowsky served as best man for his brother-in-law.

The mother of the bride wore an aqua tie-silk street dress and the bridegroom's mother wore a brown suit. Both wore carnation corsages. A dinner for the immediate families followed the service. Following a short trip the couple will live in New Glarus. The bride attended the Vogue School of Design, Chicago, and the bridesgroom is employed by Zemp's Meat Market.

Barbara Burington Honored on Birthday ORANGEVILLE daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Burington, was hostess to classmates Friday afternoon marking her eighth birthday. Miss Dorleen Showers assisted Mrs. Burington in directing games and arranging refreshments.

Gifts were presented to Barbara. Attending were Diane Rosenstiel, Jan Keister, Emily Miller, Joleen Mover, Sharon Sheider, Charlotte Fryer. Donna Yeoman, Kay Yeagle, Bonnie Baker, Irmagarde Rouse, Sherrill Rodebough, Rosann and Sharon Black, Joan and Edwin Burington. ALBANY EVENT TONIGHT ALBANY of the school band and other musical clubs will present a program at 8 tonight in the grade school gym here directed by Kenneth Leonard. Archie Smull, Route 5, who were married 40 years ago in Freeport, was held at the IOOF hall Saturday night for 125 relatives, friends and neighbors from Rockford, Chicago, Albany, Browntown, Edgerton, Freeport, McConnell, Winslow, Warren, Argyle and Monroe. Highlight of the event was a mock wedding with the participants garbed in costumes ranging from 35 to 50 years in age. The bride, Mrs. Russell Hanson, wore a long gown. Her attendant, Mrs.

Donovan Digman, wore a short flapper- type gown. The bride's mother was Mrs. Emerson Wells with Mrs. Ivan Ellingson as the minister. The bridegroom, Michael Smull; best man, Russell Hanson and father, Donovan Digman, wore swallow-tail coats and high buttoned shoes.

Miss JoAnn Stine, oldest grandchild of the Smulls, presided at the guest book. Kay Wolfe, another granddaughter was in charge of the gifts. Winners at 500 were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Flannery, Browntown, Mr.

and Mrs. Valentine Zibung; at euchre were Julian Kiechli, Mrs. Frank Walters, Robert Kubly and Mrs. Await Eickstadt, all of Monroe. Gifts, cards and a cash purse were presented to Mr.

and Mrs. Smull. Lunch was served. Mrs. Smull was the former Keller, daughter of the late Mr.

and Mrs. George Keller Browntown. Her husband is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Smull of Freeport.

Relatives attending were four daughters, Mrs. Franklin Stine, Mrs. George Wolfe and Mrs. Russel Hanson, all of Monroe, and Mrs. William Finn of Edgerton; two sons, Veril, Shullsburg, and Michael at home.

Mr. Smull's sister, Mrs. Spencer Kunkle, and her husband, Freeport, were attendants at the wedding 40 years ago. The Smulls have nine grandchildren. Woman's Club Plans Valentine Decorations A Valentine theme will be used in decorations for the Woman's Club benefit card party tomorrow at 8 p.

Holy Name Society Holds Card Party More than 100 attended the card party last evening in St. Victor's parish hall, sponsored by the Holy Name Society. Winners at 500 were Mrs. John Disch, Michael McGuire, Mrs. Thomas Schindler, Alex Birschbach, Miss Ida Casanova and Mrs.

Ralnh Norder; at cribbage was Dr. Thomas W. Reilly; at yass Emil Buholzer and Mrs. Heidi Thalman; at bridge Mrs. J.

Walter Donovan and Mrs. Anton Portman, and at euchre, Mrs. William Hogan and Mrs. Warren Gerhart. Members of the arrangement committee were William R.

Rieder, John Disch, Emmett Norton, Bernard Gibbons, Ted Gaulrapp and Joseph G. Urban. engagement of Miss Lydia Wels and Fred W. West, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Frank R. West, 2506 17th street, is being announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wels, Route 1. The wedding date has not been chosen.

Miss Wels graduated from Monroe high school and completed the integrated liberal studies course at the University of Wisconsin. She is employed at the First National Bank. Her fiance graduated from South Wayne high school and Madison Business college. He is serving with the 61st Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Ernest Harmon Field in Newfoundland. Miss Tourdot Weds Daniel Albert Meier Miss Charlene Frances Tourdot, Madison, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Frank Tourdot, Brooklyn, became the bride of Daniel Albert Meier, Middleton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Meier, Mazomanie, at St. Mary's Catholic church, Belleville, Saturday.

Rev. E. N. Gariepy performed the ceremony. A sister of the bride, Miss Phyllis Tourdot, was maid of honor.

Mrs. Orville Viney, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Delbert Bollig, cousin of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids. Flower girls were Margaret and Pauline Tourdot, sisters of the bride, and Daryl Brabender was the ringbearer. Wilfred Meier served as best man for his brother and the groomsmen were Orville Viney and Delbert Bollig.

Ushering services were performed by Robert Tourdot and Eugene Brabender. Following a trip to northern Wisconsin, the couple will live on a farm near Black Earth. Rudy Ammons Feted On 13th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Ammon were honored on their 13th anniversary Friday night at their home on Route 5.

Their anniversary was Thursday. Yass was played and lunch was served by Mrs. Ammon. Attending were Messrs, and Mmes. Wilbert Strahm, Robert Buehl, Ralph Kubly, Henry Spring, Lawrence Huntly, Gilbert Disch, Clark Dooly, all of Monticello, and Mr.

and Mrs. Fred Zurfluh, Albany. Schultzes.Wolfs Hosts for Silver Anniversary Party Forty relatives and friends were quests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A.

Schultz, Route 5, and Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Wolf, Orangeville, who observed their silver wedding anniversaries with a dinner at Fullers in Winslow last evening. The couples were married in a double wedding ceremony Feb. 14, 1929, performed by Rev.

G. H. Blum in Immanuel Evangelical United Brethren church, Monroe. Mrs. Schultz, the former Rose Stauffacher, and Mrs.

Wolf, the former Hilda Stauffacher, are daughters of the late Edward M. Stauffacher and Mrs. Mary Stauffacher, 2103 llth avenue. Schultz is the son of Mrs. Martha Schultz, 1414 13th avenue, and Wolf is the son of Edwin Wolf, 2302 14th avenue.

The Wolfs have two sons, Keith who is married to the former Gladys Neuenschwander of Monroe, and lives on the home farm, and Pvt. Howard, who is stationed at Camp Gordon, Ga. The latter was unable to attend the celebration. The Schultzes have a son, Clarence, a freshman in Monroe high school, and a daughter, Marilyn, who is in the fourth grade at Lincoln school. On the entertainment program Marilyn sang, accompanied by her brother on the accordion.

Guests were from Rock City, Cedarville, Orangeville, Clarno, Twin Grove, Juda and Monroe. Silver gifts were presented to the couples. Tables were decorated in the Valentine motif with a large wedding cake as the bridal table centerpiece. and Mrs. Elmer Schwartzlow, Route 2, are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Joanne Carol, to Bernard Albright, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Orvail Albright, Brodhead. No date has been set for the wedding. Miss Schwartzlow is a senior at Juda high school. Her fiance is a graduate of Monroe high school and is employed by Swiggum's service station.

Patra Ackermann Honored at Party A party honoring the sixth birthday of Patra, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ackermann, Route 2, was held yesterday afternoon from 2:30 to 5 p. m. Games were played and prizes and favors presented to the guests.

Gifts were given to the honoree. Miss Marilyn Rutsch, Juda, assisted with games and serving lunch. Attending were Ann Goecks, Diane and Marshall Zwygart, Holly Hoesly, Elaine Brown, Larry Ott, Colleen Kubly, Richard Riesen, David Gruenberg, Craig Ackerman and Ronald Gruenberg. Amerpohl was a member of the selective service board here during World War II. He retired from the postmastership in 1935 after nine years in that position. He is a director of the Bank of Brodhead and president of the Brodhead Water and Light Co. Michigan Group Asks Aid for Superior Park WASHINGTON A northern Michigan group today asked a House appropriations subcommittee for money to develop the Isle Royal National Park in Lake Superior. A master plan of development, prepared by the Interior Department, was submitted several years ago. At that time, it was estimated seven million dollars would be needed to carry out the plan.

Rep. Bennett (R-Mich), who appeared before the subcommittee, said lack of transportation is one of the main reasons why the park has failed to attract visitors. EDUCATOR SUCCUMBS MILWAUKEE Word was received Saturday of the death of Homer S. Hemenway, 61, former superintendent of schools at Shorewood and Waupun. He died Tuesday at Seattle, a cancer victim.
