Judd, real estate agent, has sold the following property in Maysville this week: The Fairfax Willett residence on Limestone street to Thomas R. James for $3,150, and a lot on Third street belonging to Henry Der3ch to B. A. Wall- ingford, for $2,500. The large stern wheel steamer Montana was blown over the dam at the head of the canal, at Louisville, on Sunday, and lies in a precarious condition, with every probability of breaking in two.

The accident was caused bv a blockade of coal barges at the entrance of the canal. The Montana is an eleven hundred ton boat and was on toer way from Pittsburg to St. Louis with a largo miscellaneous cargo. Prehistoric Giant. Woman Arrested for Murder. Yesterday afternoon about three o'clock, Marshal E. W.

Fitzgerald, arrested on a boat at the mouth of Cabin Mrs. Elizabeth Leizure, a married woman, whose husband and two children were with her, on the charge of having shot and killed Moses Markins, at Ironton Ohio, on the fourth day of last July. At the examining trial on the charge Mrs. Leizurje was held to appear at the higher court, but the grand jury failed to report an indictment. A subsequent one, however, found a true bill charging manslaughter, but in the meantime she had disappeared and all trace of her was lost until she was arrested here as stated.

Mrs Leizure when arrested admitted the killing, bub claims that she was compelled to take Markins' life or suffer a fate similar to that ot 'the young girls who were killed at Ashland not very long ago. Mrs. Leizure is about twenty-five years of age, and is not a bad-looking woman. Her youngest child is about six weeks old. She left for Ironton last night by the Fleetwood, in charge of deputy sheriff J.

It is believed the other creditors will agree to the compromise.
