Jackelyn said not a good movie perhaps but It gave me a chance to work And I always learn from mistakes I know until I see the picture You can study acting every day but not the same as going In front of a Trick or Treats PQ 90 minutes long opens Friday at the Showcase cinemas Adults $4 11 and under $2 Jackelyn Giroux star of Trick or Treats' Certainly It Is played so broadly It is almost camp that sort of burlesqued quality that lets an audience know It Is being kidded The problem Is direction Is pokey and crude The story Is obvious from the first scene on as a wealthy woman has her husband committed to an asylum Of course he escapes and raves his way through the house fears later where our Jackelyn Is babysitting the son a nasty little amateur magician who keeps trying his tricks out on the babysitter Because the screenplay Is all cliches and overacting the comedy Is lost Oddly though this Is supposed to be kidding bloody horror films there Is little of that until the very end and then too late Two performers In the film Carrie Snodgress and David Carradlne have secondary name value in Hollywood and obviously needed the work But they are In very little of "Trick or Treats" and only Carradlne Jean-Paul Belmondo They held up cards for me with the French words spelled out phonetically And Godard liked It "And I understand (another famed director) Roman Polanski saw it And all of that came out of "Trick or THE PICTURE was written directed and photographed by Gary Graver (not a famed director) a cinematographer whose first works have Included some second-unit camera work on "Raiders of the Lost and the filming of his own "Texas Perhaps "Trick or Is Indeed Intended to be a comedy Will the public go for this sort Xof obvious please forever?
