30 Friday January 3 19S6 THE EVANSVILLE PRESS Regis Toomey's infectious grin brings back memories A year or so later I happened to be in Chicago on some sort of an assignment While there I passed a small near-downtown building where a huge picture was displayed above the entrance Memories crowded through my mind as I stood there looking For the 6-by- picture was of Regis Toomey wearing one of those snap-brimmed fedoras that had been part of his trademark He also wore that inf ectuous grin which had dazzled the girl I had introduced him to so many years before It was the message under the picture though made me stand there "Ask not what Regis Toomey can do for the message said "but what you do for Regis Toomey" I must have been laughing pretty loud because people were staring at me I moved on Last week I saw another picture of Regis Toomey in a newspaper He along with Mae Clark were among the old-time movie personalities living in the Motion Picture and Television Country House in
