We see in your issue of the 28 Lh instant a let er from Chapel Hii), stating hat the University students have organized a foot-ball association. ibis we note with pleasure, lhuy o'aim, Lowever. mat tney were tue first to conceive the idea, or, at leatft, the first to take steps towards tfte formation of an inter-collegiate 'foot ball association in North Carolina. Here we bg leave to diftVr with them. Last January the students "xf Trinity College brganiaed an as sociation, the prime object of which was to effect, if possible.

an inter collegiate athletio league among the colleges of the State. Al though little was done during the spring, there has been zealous effort since the 6th of September to effect this organ xition. Editorials, reJa tive to such a movement, have been published in the Trinity Archive; letters have been written to influential students of the several coTeges, Knd we bare even spoken personally with them, urging them to a favorable con aidemtion of auoh a movementall this, too, prior to the date on which the students of the University claim that their association was organized; yet they claim the authorship of Ihe movement Tbey nope the othe; colleges will follow their example in the organisation or teams, etc. We hope that those colleges which have not preceded them in such or ganixations will follow their worthy example. We are especially desirous that the Inter-Collegiate Association be formed- In this connection, we would tm- noanoe that tbe game of foo bUirbe- tween Obapel tiul and Trinity will be played at Greensboro, on Thanksgiving day.

We have a challenge before Wake Forest for a game in February and hope tbey will accept. I The Trinity team- stands ready to play any collegiate team in the State, provided they will be governed by the association rules, ReepeclfuHr, Tbisitt Colliok ArnxKna Ass-3. S. J. Durham, Sec'y.
