sense of division in the conference came in discussions of the Community Developemt Act being thrashed out by Congress and the Administration The formulain this act would begin disbursing more- federal money to urbanized counties than to the central cities within three years In five years Berry said a county such as Hamilton would be getting 51 per cent of the federal community development leaving Qndnnati with the remaining 49 percent This brought some objections from smaller cities that feel they been getting the money given larger cities all along and are now destined to be cut out again when the funds start pouring into the surrounding counties Berry explained Fa Cindnnati and Hamilton County he views the problem from a different angle we have got to resolve here within the preferred to have the traffic flow through Bauerwood in getting to and from the highway Township trustees several weeks ago arranged for a meeting of highway officials residents ana businessmen at the township building The state gave in and told Gold Circle last week it could build its permanent driveway directly onto Colerain from the parking lot which is what Gold Circle wanted to do in the first place The only hitch is that traffic exiting the Gold Circle lot will be able to make only a right-hand turn onto Colerain forcing drivers fii head southbound November elections are just around the that Cincinnati has been placed firmly on the map in the minds of the mayors He also brought back a briefcase full of papers and a head full of ideas of which he plans to pass on to dty officials Berry said the four-day conference was an ideal forum for the exchange of ideas if not the powerful urban coalition many mayors would like to believe can be a stimulating ext for one who keeps an open mind a perfect opportunity to establish a con-' sensus position on issues between large and small Berry said He would not agree with New York Mayor John Lindsay who described the conference as and Nor would he agree that the passage of countless conference resolutions has little or no effect cm Washington The latter fact however may have more to do with what is currently going on in Washington than with any increas-ic of the ed sa: the mayors ho WATERGATE WAS a topic of low-key discussion at the conference Berry said He said several mayors who have attended past conferences attributed a marked
