Patricia Ruhnke Married At Burt Church Recently In a 7:3Op.m. candlelight cere- money the wedding vows of Patricia A. Ruhnke, Algona, and Vance E. swanson, Sherburn, Minn., were solemnized in St. John's Lutheran Church at Burt with Rev. R. Edwin Bishop officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Klemp of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sherburn, Minn., at the double ring ceremony. The parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ervin H. Ruhnke of rural Algona, and Mr. and Mrs. Vincent A. Swanson, Sherburn, Minn. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. Attendants were Mrs. Shirley Zumach, Fenton, aunt of the bride, as matron of honor; and Mrs. Robert Ruhnke, Algona, sister-in-law of the bride, Valerie Swanson, the groom's sister of Sherburn, Leslie Norton, Jackson, Minn., and Pamela Zumach, Fenton, the bride's cousin, as bridesmaids. The groom's attendants were Dennis Larson, Sherburn, Minn., his cousin, as best man; and groomsmen were Richard And-fc' erson, Savage, Minn., his cousin/ Robert Ruhnke, Algona, the bride's brother, and Gary Manzey, also a cousin of the groom of Sherburn. Ushers were all cousins of the bridal couple, Kent Anderson, Sherburn; Marlin Berkland of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Richard Manzey, Sherburn; and Mark Voigt, Des Moines. Jolene Manzey was the organist and accompanied Mrs. Harold Schmidt, the groom's cousin, and James Ruhnke, brother of the bride, who sang the nuptial' music. A reception was held in the church parlors following the wedding ceremony. Lori Zumach, cousin of the bride, registered the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Berkland, uncle and aunt of the bride, served as hosts. Mrs. Dale Voigt, aunt of the bride, and Fred Ruhnke, uncle of the groom, served punch; Mrs. Irene Manzey and Mrs. Ethel Manzey, aunts of the groom, poured coffee; and Mrs. Kenneth Anderson and Mrs. Lloyd Hansen, aunts of the groom, cut and served the cake. Waitresses were cousins of the bridal couple and included Mary Anderson, Karen Berkland, Cindy Voigt and Debra Zumach. Mrs. Dennis Larson, Mrs. Richard Manzey and Mrs. David Mulso opened and displayed the gifts. The bride is an elementary teacher in Welcome, Minn., and the groom will graduate from Winona (Minn.) state College in December, 1971 where he is majoring in business education. Titonka Man Gets State Post Again TITONKA - Mr. and Mrs. Morris Giveus spent most of the past week at the Rural Letter Carriers Convention held at Waterloo. Morris was re-elected'as State Secretary. - o TOUR FARMS The Valley Farmers held their tour of the farms Monday starting at the Larry Franzen farm and ending at the Larry Gray farm with a potluck supper for the families. After the meal they held a short business meeting and elected Neal Hansen as king for Fun Night at Burt. They discussed the softball team. The rest of the evening was spent by the Valley Farmers practicing soitball. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Baade and girls were Sunday afternoon visitors in the Plai- sier home. Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Junkermeier and Tracy, were Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Junkermeier at Lakota. Sunday evening they were visitors in the Bradford Buffington home. R. L. Krantz is a patient at the Buffalo Center Hospital for tests and observation. Betty Sonnenberg, St. Louis Park, Minn., Julie and Jane Sonnenberg, Edina, Minn., were weekend visitors in the home of Mrs. Lina Sonnenberg. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jennings, Mrs. Lillian Grahm were Sunday guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Phelps in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hill and family, clear Lake, were Wednesday supper guests in the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. K. Hill. Mrs. Harry Beed submitted to eye surgery at Mercy Hospital in Mason city the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Art Boyken and girls returned Sunday following a two week vacation at the Boyken cottage at pine River, Minn. Brenda Krull, Eagle Grove, spent the past two weeks visiting in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glaus Krull. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Higgins returned home after delivering a motor home to Long Beach, Calif. They were gone for a week and visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Con Higgins at South Gate, Calif., and also Mr. and Mrs. Bud Higgins at Long Beach. Mrs, Helen Krominga accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Glen Miller to their home at Floyd for a weeks visit there. The 4th of July weekend they all visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kado at Valapariso, Ind. The V.F.W. Auxiliary to Wm. H. Kennedy Post 4071 will meet Tuesday, July 6 at 7:30 p.m. Hostesses will be Jean Gerdis and LaVaughn Wibben.
