THE PITTSBURG PIRDAT, D.ECE MpERk' 19, 189a "5 COPPER AND SILYEE. These Two Valuable Metals Discovered Kear Wilkesbarre. A THOROUGH TEST WILL BE MADE. Three-Card Honte Finds a Fossilized Tictim at losnsstoirn. COKB WOEKECS HDSTIKG FOR WIVES rsrKCIAL TKLhOKAJC TO THE DISrATCIt.1 "VVilkcsbarre, Dec 18.

The qniet inhabitants of Evans Falls are rather excited over the finding of copper along Bowman's creek. Many years ago an Englishman found what he supposed was copper at a place which is now known as Copper Mine Eili. He was certain he had found the copper, and dug a Jeep hole by the hillside, but he failed to get men of capital interested, and finally cave it up. Later on the man who owned the farm, a Mr. Jackson, found rocks purple with copper, which he sent to an assayer.

It was pronounced copper, but was said not to exist in payinc quantities. TUo Jackson property was sold at Sberitt sale, and was bid in by a neighbor who went to work and blasted the rocUs anrt is said to haTe found any amount of copper. Tne rock was taken to a blacksmith and melted. Pure copper ran lrora it in a stream, and with it something; that looked like silver. Major K.

II. Evans has hundreds of acres of land in that lCinity. and he proposes to make atboroufth test and ascertain ust how much copper there is on his place. Old miners who baVe had practical experience pronounce the copper ore very rich, and if this is proved to bo a fact Evans Falls will soon be a busy place. EUINED BY GAS FAILURE.

Dow a Glass Company, Brilliantly Organized, Came to Grief. SrECIAL TELEGRAM TO TUS Bellaike, Dec. 13. Misfortunes seems to be piling upon the glass plants which were started In the boom towns of the West, when it was tboucht that gas was inexhaustible. The American Glass Works of Aoderson, had one of the finest plants that could be found.

With plenty of gas and an elegant free site, a coinpanv had been formed, and several gentle-ircn in this part of the Ohio Vallev took shares, ranging in valne from K.U00 to HS.O00L Many of the workmen also took stock, and, although it was a regular company, it was run on the cooperative plan In one 3 ear the bonus paid them, the site, the ca'-liand everything the men had or could scrape together, was wiped out and closed up. The indebtedness is S3S.000. It stated that the gentlemen who hive the affair in tbeir bands were recently offered $10,000 for the entire outht, but it has not jet been closed out. It is probable that the plant will be sold soon and operated by another company. Tlio decline in gas is said to be one of the reasons for the collapse.

DIED OF A STRANGE W0U1TD. The Mntilatcd Body of a Man round on a Itailroad Track. rsrECIAI. TELEGKAM TO THE DI6PATCH.1 Scra-tost, Dec. IS.

A section boss of the Ontario and estern Railroad, while walking along the track, found the dead body of a man lying alongside tbe track with his bead stove in. One of the man's hands was in his pocket, and the other pocket was tnrned inside out. The man was terribly disfigured. Before the Coroner arrived tbe remains were identified as tlio-e of John Loftus. who resided at Jermyn.

The Coroner decided to bold an inquest, as no one seemed to know what was the matter with the man. The wound was peculiar, as if made by.a square bolt head or some similar object. The fact of one of the pocket being turned inside out, however. Indicated that tbe man had pulled it out bimelf when he hastily took bis hand out of tbe pocket. Whatever it was that struck the man, it made a peculiar bole through the sweat band of the hat and enteicd bis bead.

The large majority of people suffer more or less from impure blood given them by their parents. Second, Scrofula may be acquired by trying to live on Insufficient and poorly-cooked food, which fails to supply tbe blood with enough of the elements of life and health. For all Cases Of scrofula, whether inherited or acquired, and in whatever form. Hood's Sarsaparilla is tho most successful medicine known.

It thoroughly expels every trace of impurity, gives the blood those elements of health and vitality which it craves, and helps tbe liver and kidneys, tbe great sewers of tho system, to perform their natural duties.
