Meter 'Promise' Claimed Broken Dear Editor: I was one of the people attending a meeting of the city council in August, 1965. At that time we were told that parking meters would be removled (on a 90 day trial basis) in July, 1966. Lubbock, Snyder and other agressive cities have enforced two hour parking and remov-fessor ed meters, and have enforced the two hour limit. Parking meters were not put in as a source of revenue but now the city, says the reason they cannot remove them isloss of revenue.

I am not speaking as a director of Central Business District but as a taxpayer that expects city officials to be honor bound by their own statements, instead of breaking promises that I fear were never meant to be kept.
