Ferdinand aged 18 years, colored, Gettysburg, was treated at the Hanover General hospital early this morning for a fracture fo the nose and laceration of the lip. The injuries were sustained when the automobile he was driving struck a stone at the eastern end of McSherrystown at 2 a.

m. Jones was driving toward Hanover. 'At the sharp turn into Midway machine crossed the roadway crashed into the wall. Patrolman S. Harleman of the Gettysburg station of the etate highway patrol investigated.

Only slight damage resulted no one was injured when automobiles operated by Charles E. Herr, Elm avenue, and Edward G. Pratt- Rebert Wedding Miss Gertrude Rebert, daughter Mr. and Mrs. Jacob F. Rebert, 125 Riley Pratt, son and Mrs. Carlisle street, became, the bride Howard Pratt, Baltimore, at ceremony performed in the Church of the Redeemer, Baltimore, Saturday afternoon.

The Episcopal ring ceremony was used by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Baker. The bride is a graduate of Hanover High school, class 1928; Goucher college, Baltimore, class of 1932, and Temple Secretarial school, Washington, D. 1933. The bridegroom is a graduate of Lehigh university, Bethlehem. Auchey--Lehigh Claude H. Auchey, and Erma Lehigh, both of Hanover, were united marriage thie morning at Westminster.

The ceremony was formed in the parsonage of Grace Lutheran church by Rev. J. Hess Belt, associate pastor. The couple was unattended. Lodge Social Paul Lau Commandery No.

66 of Hanover will hold their annual Christmas, Bank social in building, the this lodge coming hall, Wednesday night at 8 o'clock. Guilty Of Larceny Robert P. Sterner, West Manheim township, was found guilty of larceny of traps and muskrats from Roy Sterner, also of West Manheim township, after a hearing before Justice of the Peace John W. Dubs, Penn township, this evening. The defendant was directed to make restitution for the traps and the pelts and to pay costs of prosecution.

Attorney Amos Hermann, York, represented the defendant. Attorney Harold B. Rudisill, Hanover, assistant district attorney, represented the commonwealth. Police Court Fines and forfeits totaling $27 were collected police court over the week-end by Chief Burgess John H. Little.

William King Ryan, Mardela Springs, forfeited $5 for passing a red signal light and John Connelly, Gettysburg, forfeited $2 bond for making a U-turn in the first block on Broadway when they failed to appear in court this evening. Allan Smith, 40 North Locust street, Hagerstown, and Ralph fined Snyder, Third street, were $10 each on charges of speedIng. Case Dismissed David Gable, Spring Grove, was found guilty of trespassing on property of Amos Miller in Penn township at a hearing before Justice of the Peace John W. Penn township. The prosecutor asked that the defendant be dismissed without fine.

Upon payment of the costs the defendant was discharged. Hospital Notes C. S. Weaver, 409 Third etreet, was removed from the Hanover General hospital to his home in the ambulance this afternoon at 2:55 o'clock. Emily Root, 503 West Middle street, was removed from her home the Hanover General hospital in the ambulance this morning at 12:30 o'clock.

Mrs. David Musselman, 19 George street, was discharged from the Hanover General hospital yesterday. She had been a patient eince December! 5. MRS. JOHN BUTLER, NEW OXFORD R.

D. 2, DIES New Oxford, Dec. Agnes Butler, wife of John Butler, New Oxford R. D. 2, died euddenly this morning at 12:30 o'clock at her home.

Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. She was aged 69 years. The deceased was born in Adams county, a daughter of the late Joseph and Kuhl Wolfe. Surviving are her husband; five children, William, New Oxford R. D.

Mrs. William Potter and Miss Mae Butler, New Oxford; John Butler, Abbottstown R. D. and Mrs. Walter Dugan, Gettysburg; three brothers, Isaac, York Haven; John, Biglerville, and Adam Wolfe, East Berlin; one sieter, Mrs.

ElizRoth, Gettysburg; 28 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon with services at 1:30 o'clock at the home and further services in St. Paul's Reformed church, New Oxford. Rev. H.

E. Sheely will officiate, assisted by Rev. A. P. Frantz, of the Hoffman orphanage.

Interment will be made in the New Oxford cemetery. Friends may call at the horte Turnday evening between 7 and 9 o'clock. GLATFELTER CO. DECLARES SECOND DIVIDEND OF YEAR Spring Grove, Dec. P.

H. Glatfelter company today announced the payment of a dividend of $4.87 a share on its preferred stock. This was the second such dividend declared this year, an the total of both amounts to $7.50 a share. Another indication of increase in business at the plant is the fact that more employes have been hired by the Arm the past three weeks. At present the plant is operating on three, eighthour shifts.

MRS. STRAUSBAUGH DIES AT RESIDENCE NEAR SPRING GROVE Spring Grove, Dec. Cora Dissinger Strausbaugh, wife of Nathan Strausbaugh, died at her home, near Roth's church, Jackson township, Sunday night at 8 o'clock. She was aged 68 years, 11 months and six days. Death followed an illness of two weeks, of acute neuritis.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Robert and Lehman, Jackson township; one daughter, Anna, at home: three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John Wile, and two brothers, John Dissinger, Hamburg, Jacob Dissinger, Minersville, Lebanon county. Private funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the house. Concluding services will be held at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, Jackson township, Rev. G.

Howard Danner, elder in charge, will officiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Mr. and Mrs. Carl H.

ANNIE STRICKLER DIES NEAR LONGSTOWN Longstown, Dec. Annie S. Strickler, widow of William H. Strickler, died at 4 m. today at the home of her son son-in-law and daughter, Mr.

and Mrs. Robert C. Ness, near here, of a complication of diseases. She had been ill since the death of her husband about three months ago. She was 71 years old.

Mrs. Strickler leaves the daughter with whom she lived; a son, Elmer C. Strickler, whose address is not great- and two sisters, known; seven a grandchildren, four Mrs. Sarah Markey, this place, and Mrs. Mary Young, Red Lion.

The funeral will be held at 10 a. m. on Thursday, with brief services at her home and concluding services in the Longstown United Brethren church. Burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Funeral Director Purd A.

SNELLBAKER York Haven, Dec. funeral of Mrs. Elmer Snellbaker, who died Friday at her home in York Haven, was held at 1:30 p. m. today from the home of Mr.

and Mrs. Calvin Snellbaker, near town. Concluding services were held in the Union church of Manchester. Interment was in Union cemetery, Manchester. Rev.

F. B. Emenheiser, assisted by Rev. Mr. Sherman, officiated.

Eleanor Wise, daughter of Mrs. Janie Wise, and Howard Wilson were quietly united in marriage at 6 o'clock Saturday evening at the Fawn Grove Methodist Protestant parsonage. The ring ceremony was performed by Rev.

J. G. Eaton, pastor of both bride and bridegroom, in the presence of the bride's mother, her sister, Helen, Mrs. Clyde Stewart and daughter, Margaret, and Mrs. L.

E. Devilbiss. The bride was attired in a dress of rust crepe with brown accessories. Her coat was also of ruet hat to match. The couple have started housekeeping at the bridegroom's home, near here.

School Solons Relect The Fawn township board of education met in the vocational echool Saturday afternoon. President Melvin Krow and Vice- President William Channell were reelected for their second terms. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary, C. Everitt Richardson and the treasurer's report was given by Charles R. Trout.

Snyder, library fund, $60; Mrs. Marian McGinnis, interest, $21.50. Treasurer Of Sunday School 45 Years Will Soon Retire Moses Paules To Relinquish Office At Wrightsville Evangelical Church After Long' And Faithful Service. Wrightsville, Dec. 14.

Moses Paules, who has served 45 consecutive years as treasurer of the Sunday school of Grace Evangelical church, will be succeeded in this office by his son, Robert, at the end of this year. He recently resigned because of ill health. Mr. Paules is 69 years of age and came to Wrightsville 50 years ago from a farm on which his parents resided near East Prospect. He followed the iron mouldere' trade in local foundries for the past 44 years.

He remembers distinctly his first Sunday a8 treasurer of the Sunday school in the old church on Chestnut street. In reminiscing, Mr. Paules stated that the first Sunday he served as treasurer the collection amounted to eighty cents and the number of persons attending WAS about sixty. During his time in this office, the Sunday school was moved into new church and the number on the roll increased to over six hundred. He recalls the incident that was the beginning of hie attending Sunday school.

He, with several other young men, had time on their hands on a Sunday morning 45 years ago that they didn't know what to do with, when one of the group suggested that they attend Sunday school in the -finished church on Chestnut street. Acceptance of the suggestion was unanimous and they all attended the first Sunday school held in the then new and now abandoned church and Mr. Paules was appointed treasurer, which office he held up to the present time. He also served as treasurer of the congregation from 1916 to 1933. C.

SCHOOL BOARD Dover, Dec. E. Zinn was re-elected president of the Dover township school board at a meeting held recently at the Weiglestown school building. W. B.

Mackison was elected vice-president of the board succeeding George Frey. Mr. Mackison takes the place of C. L. Trimmer, who resigned when he moved from Dover township.

Mr. Mackison was appointed by the court York county. The other officers of the board are: Secretary, Jacob B. Diehl, and treasurer, Harry H. Leib.

Leib and George Frey. French Club Meets "Le Cercle Francais," a French club of the Dover High school, recently presented the following program: Reading, "How The French Chose the Color of Their Flag," Mildred Henry; poem by Louise Newbould; reading, "The French Schools," Arlene Wire; Table in French," Glenn Julius: reading, "Un Bon Mot," John King; game in the form of questionnaire, Louise Rentzel. Hold Christmas Party The Gleaners class of Calvary Lutheran Sunday school held Christmas party at the home of Mr. a and Mrs. Luther Stambaugh.

The program was opened a piano prelude, "Christmas Chimes," Mrs. Orville Myers: Christmas Story," as told in the Scriptures, was read by Mrs. Claude Hoffman, Mrs. Howard Haas, Mrs. William Hoffman, Mrg.

Fleck, active minister for 25 years, died Sunday evening at his home, near Delta. Death was caused by a complication of diseases, which developed from an attack of pneumonia. was 51 years, four months and 16 'aared Rev. Mr. Fleck was a son of Anna M.

and the late Henry R. Fleck, of Cumberland county. He attended Susquehanna univereity and was a graduate of both Gettysburg college and the seminary, He served Lutheran congregations for 13 years at Fairfield, Littlestown, Lititz and Camden, N. J. He then joined the Presbyterian church, and accepted as a minister, served charges for 12 years at Daretown, N.

Williamstown, N. and Chanceford church, near Woodbine, this county. In July of this year Rev. Mr. Fleck withdrew from the Presbyterian Church, U.

WILLIAH J. HEDRICK DIES AT RESIDENCE NEAR STEWARTSTOWN Stewartstown, Dec. J. Hedrick, a retired farmer, died at 7:45 o'clock this evening at his home in Hopewell township, near here. Death resulted from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy suffered ten weeks ago.

He was aged 65 years, eight months and four days. A life-long resident of community, Mr. Hedrick was member of the Mt. Pleasant Lutheran church, near Rinely, and belonged to Odd Fellows lodge, No. 1174, Rinely, Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
