The event coincides the 200th anniversary of the Bastille Day celebration and the 100th anniversary of the construction of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Prance. The rally began in 1985 with Regional Medical Center as its sole sponsor. Last year, growth of the rally allowed more sponsors to participate, according to Derald Bulls, director of public relations at McCuistion. v.

Entries for the rally increased to in 1988 from 150 in 1987. Or- are expecting this year's rally to attract more than 1,000 participants, according to Bruce Hood, co-chairman of the event. "We are hpping to attract bikers from a wide area and to build the rally into an event to be looked forward to each year," said Hood. The rally will include a variety of tours. Races of 100K (62 miles), 70K (43 miles), 15K (nine miles) and a 2K (1.2 miles) are open for entry.

There is a $10 entry fee. Tours will start and finish at Bywaters Park, located two blocks south of the plaza in Paris on Main Street. Check-in and registration will be held at Bywaters Park from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., and a mass start will take place at 8 a.m. Bikes must be in good working order, and helmets are strongly recommended.

Riders are responsible for their own repairs and for supplying their own repair equipment. Rest stops and medical services will be provided. Special commemorative jerseys will be awarded to the top finishing Blood donations needed to help 2 Commerce children i i Blood donations and funds are needed for two toddlers from iQommerce who suffered third-degree burns when a water heater exploded in their home in Commerce Monday. A spokeswoman for the family of Shawn and Christopher Pinson said the two toddlers remained in critical condition in the intensive care burn unit at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. They are the children of Wesley and Tina Pinson of Commerce.

"They are very seriously hurt, very critical," she told The Paris News Thursday. Shawn, 3, and Christopher, 18 rmonths, were burned over 70 per- 'cent to 80 percent of their bodies the water heater exploded, to Commerce fire and police officials. They are requiring blood transfusions and constant care at Parkland Hospital. According to the spokeswoman, the family is in desperate need of 200 pints of blood to replace that being used during treatment of the two young boys. Blood donations can be made at the Stewart Blood Center in McCuistion Regional Hospital, Room 446.

Stewart Blood Center has employed extra help to reduce the waiting time for blood donors, she said. Financial assistance is also needed by the Pinson family. Donations can be made to the Pinson Children's Fund at the First National Bank Paris. Drunken driving hearing delayed for Rex Chandler CITY, Okla. State Sen. Rex Chandler of Idabel, was to appear in Municipal ICourt here Thursday following his May 4 arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol. However, that hearing has been cbhfiriued "until July il3, according 'to'Municipal Court officials?" Court 'officials did'not know the reason for the continuation. Chandler was arrested by Okla- homa City police about 2 a.m.
