Leach, participated in the famous linkup of American and Russian armies on the Elbe. In a letter postmarked April 24, Private Leach sent his parents a Russian bill which he said a Red Army soldier gave him. He also said that he would be in Berlin by the time his parents received the leter. Former Coleman Resident Dies COLEMAN, May Catherine Bowden, 77, resident of Coleman county for 50 years, died in Austin April 27, and was buried at Trickham April 29. Funeral was conducted at the Church of Christ in Shields at 2:30 p.

m. with J. P. Salyer, minister, in charge. Mrs.

Bowden, a member of the Church of Christ since early childhood, was an active church worker. She is survived by three sons, L. J. Robbins, Escolon, L. W.

Robbins, Mission; J. A. Robbins, Gouldbusk: two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Robbins, and Mrs. Margie Barrington, both of Williamson county; one brother, K.

Private Leach, who is 19 years old, is in the 35th infantry division of the 9th Army. The young Abilenian also sent three more war "keepsakes" capturned from the Nazis -two Nazi crosses and a World War 1 medal. Private Leach trained at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, in the early part of 1944 and later went to Camp Chaffee. for infantry training until last December.

All community chairmen have been named, and plans are in the making for an intensive county-wide drive. After eight months, however, he was released and during that time he had dictated his famed autobiographical and programmatic work, "Mein Kampf," to his secretary and fellow prisoner, Rudolf Hess. Scarcely out of prison, he reorganized his party now, as Germany's economy worsened, grew by leaps a and bounds. The first great landslide of the Nazis came in the Reichstag election of 1930, where they polled almost 6,500,000 out of almost 35,000,000 votes cast.

In the elections of 1932, they secured 230 out of 607 seats and thus became Germany's dominant party. Terrorism played a great part in making people vote the Hitler ticket. From now on things went easy, especially since aged President Paul Von Hindenburg was surrounded by a pro-Hitler camarilla which persuaded the old gentleman that it was his duty under the constitution to ask the leader of the largest party to form the government. On January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler had attained his goal: he was nominated German chancellor. The days of the Weimar Republic were over.
