10 — Koiiuth County Advane* (> Monday, April 5, 1971 Training Class For Government Administrators The final session of "Iowa Government Today and Tomorrow" was held last Tuesday night. Mayor Bill Finn was present to congratulate and award those who completed this course. It was offered through the Algona Community adult night school and Iowa Lakes Community College. "Iowa Government Today and Tomorrow" was part of the Iowa local government In-Service training program developed by the Institute of Public Affairs of the University of Iowa for the purpose of improving local government. The program was created to help individuals in administrative or supervisory positions in local government improve their knowledge and skills. Other courses in this program are concerned with human relations and administrative and management practices. Mayor Finn presented the certificates to the seven who completed the course — Dave Smith, Bob Engstrom, Eveline Asa and Chuck Benson, Algona; Russell Harris, Leo Gilman and Helen Tate, Emmetsburg. The instructor for the course was Harlan Skaar. Discussed sidewalk program for this summer. Cigarette permit for Highway 18 Conoco oil station was approved. Set a tap fee of $175 for Mr. Keith to make a connection to the sanitary sewer in the southwest part of the city. Authorized the payment of the premium of the City Ins. Policy for Fire & Extended Coverage, Vandalism and Malicious Mischief.
