RASH IS CONTINUED Woman is Charged With Kidnapping Her Own Child- -Other Cases Tried in Police Court, The case against Mrs. John Rash, for alleged kidnapping of own child. In police court yesterday morning was continued until November 6.

Part of the testimony was heard at this morning's session and It was testifled that Mrs. Rash had gone to church and taken her child away while it was in the custody of Mr. Rash. The child was taken from the Rash family October 24 and given Into the custody of Mrs. Mary Butler, and since that time Mrs.

Rash has desired to obtain her child again. J. S. Styles, attorney for the defendant, said he thought he could show that the custody of the child was obtained by false representations and Judge J. G.

Adams held the case open until November 6. Will Sexton was found guilty of exceeding the speed limit, but was found not guilty on the count of reckless driving of an autombile. An Interesting decision in this case was concerning the Intersection of a street and street crossings. This was to the effect that when a car passes a point where a blind street on the opposite side from where the street intersects the driver is not 11- able to the law concerning speed to be observed in passing street crossings. The usual monthly, roundup of disorderly was taken Tuesday night and yesterday the keepers were fined $10 and costa, the inmates being fined $5 and the costa.

For some time It seemed that a fight was to be repeated between Nancey Finney and Jessie Fuller, two negro women who had quarreled over the Finney woman's husband. They were given $5 and the costs and when the in the case" was asked whether he wished to pay either woman's fine, he re plied that he would rather let them settle that little affair between themselves. E. Cauble, for the past two years assistant city passenger and ticket agent, at the office of the Southern railway here, leaves today for Jacksonville, to accept a similar position with the Jacksonville Terminal company, at the terminal station at that city. Cauble is ta leave Asheville will be learned with regret by his friends in Asheville, who, however, will wish him great success at his new home. In order to secure the payment of a larger amount of the taxes when they are assessed and before the last of the year, the announcement was made over a year ago that on all taxes paid on or before the first day of November a discount of two per cent would be granted. Many people have taken advantage of the discount and most of the larger corporations have paid up all their taxes. Approximately $70,000 has been paid in during the last month and the tax collector's office has been a busy scene for the last few days. Among some of the largest amounts in are $17,000 for the Southern railway; about $4,000 from the Asheville Power and Light company; 000 from the Asheville Cotton mills. Not only are the corporations and large business firms but the farmers and all other classes of people are coming in and taking advantage of this opportunity.

There are many Inquiries from people who live out of the city and who own property here. After the last day of this month and before the first day of January, discount of one per cent and will be given to all those who pay their taxes.
