PAGE ALTON EVENING TELEGRAPH SATURDAY, MARCH 25, 1967 Obituaries Elliott Mrs. Leanora Elliott, 88, died ftt 12:30 p.m. Friday at the home of a daughter in Bunker Hill. Mrs. Elliott was born April 23, 1878, and preceded in death by her husband, William, and two sisters.

She Is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Dewey Strohbeck of Shipman; Miss Lillian Elliott of Bunker Hill, Mrs. Mable Swift of Godfrey, Mrs. Helen Lucker of Alton, and Mrs. Jessie Warr of Brighton; a brother, Fred Wood, Wood River; and seven grandchildren and 15 Mrs.

Elliott was correspondent for the Telegraph In Woodburn for many years. Friends may call at the Ja coby-Wise Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Monday and until noon Tuesday when the body will be moved to the Woodburn Congregational Church for 2 p.m. services conducted by the Rev. David Hein and the Rev.

0. Talbot. Burial will be in Woodburn Cemetery. The church has been named as a memorial. Home Extension.

Visitation will be at the Weber Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Monday until 11 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from Eden United Church of Christ by the pastor, Rev.

Robert 0. Laaser, with burial to be in Valley View Cemetery. Armstead Crone Albert Crone, 90, of Rte. 1, Jerseyville, died at 7:25 p.m. Friday in the Waters Nursing Home, Jerseyville.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr.

Crone was a native of the Jerseyville area. Survivors include a son Edward of Jerseyville; a brother Ernest Crone of Jerseyville; two sisters Mrs. Ethel Belt and Mrs. Charlotte Mrs. Katherine Enid Armstead, 74, of 2411 Salu Alton, died at 9 p.m.

Friday in St. Mary's Hospital, East St. Louis. Mrs. Armstead was a native of Alton and taught for a number of years in the Alton public school system.

She was the widow of Alfred Y. Armstead who died on Feb. 4, 1957. Visitation is to start at 7 p.m. Monday in Campbell Chapel Church, 626 E.

Fourth St. Services will be at the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday with burial in Alton Cemetery. The Russell Funeral Home has charge. Survivors include two sons Alfred of Alton and William of Springfield, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Genda Heads New Military Junta In Sierra Leone Post, both of Jerseyville, three grandchildren. and Lange EDWARDSVILLE Mrs. Martha Lange, 85, of 214 Hale, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland.

Born Oct. 15, 1881, in Edwardsville Township, a daughter of the late Frederick and Katherine Dietzel Spitze, she was married March 30, 1910 to Louis Lange, who died Dec. 1, 1950. Surviving are two sons, Lester of Rte. 1, Marine and Leroy of Edwardsville; a brother and sister, Mrs.

Col. Ambrose Patrick Genda from fifth rank on his country's six-man U.N. mission to head of the country's new military junta. "I think it was very kind and thoughtful of my brother officers back there," Genda said Friday after learning that he had been named chairman of a national reformation council of six army and two police officials. Only a year ago, Genda, 39, was retired as deputy com mander of the armed forces and sent here as a second secretary because of a dispute with some of Sierra Leone's leaders.

Burglars broke into the Play- mor Roller Rink, 5608 Humbert Godfrey, and escaped with more than $186 in loot. Missing in the break-in, reported at 8:30 a.m.

Friday, were four roller skate cases, three pairs of skates, two sets of skate wheels, $40 in change, $10 worth of candy and $60 worth of novelties. A burglary at the Van Meter Tavern, Rtes. Ill and 67, Godfrey, was reported to the sheriff's office at 10:30 a.m. by Raymond Van Meter. The burglars used a bar to pry the front door latch, and took a portable television, short- wave radio, 12 gauge shotgun, $35 worth of liquor, an assortment of tools and an unknown amount of change from a juke box and cigarette machine.

A desk drawer and office cabinet were rifled and an undetermined amount of coins were taken from thrse vending Brig.
