UNI Students From Area To Practice Teach Seven area students at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, have started their student teaching assignments in 20 teaching centers throughout the state. The nine-week assignments are designed to give prospective teachers experience in performing the duties of a teacher, under an experienced classroom supervisor. Area students and their assignments are: Algona: - Judith Berger, Grant Elementary, Mason City; Judith Dreyer, Price Lab. School, Cedar Falls; Sharon Reilly, Jefferson, Mason City-Clear LAke. Buffalo Center: - Roy Johnson, Price Lab. School, Cedar Falls. Wesley: - Rebecca Lickteig, Senior High, Charles City. West Bend: - Marguerite Peak, Whittier, Waterloo. Elmore, Minn.:- Roger Miller, Washington High, Cedar Rapids. Burt News Among guests attending the "Inspection Night Meeting" and initiation of Algona Chapter O.E .S. on Saturday night were Mr. and Mrs. Dean Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sarchet, Mrs. Robert Sarchet, Mrs. Fred Davis and Mrs. Al Hinckley. Mrs. Andrews also attended the School of Instruction in the afternoon and filled the station of Esther during both the afternoon and evening meetings. Week ago Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Westling were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Haase and Mrs. Edith Hayenga all of Fenton. Mr. and Mrs. John Volk and son Paul, Humboldt visited at the Westlings and the Vern Shiplers on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Harms drove to Iowa City on Wednesday to bring Mrs. Andrew Harms and son Kent home from the University hospital. Four-year- old Kent had spent 10 days as a patient at the hospital undergoing further surgery and skin grafting on the hand and arm seriously burned last September. The Harms also visited with Mrs. Jerry Wiener who is hospitalized at Iowa City. Sunday evening guests in the Harms home were Mr. and Mrs. Garry Davis and Todd, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Carlson and family, all of Algona and Mr. and Mrs. Harris Harms, Misty and Michelle.
