He had lived in Alon 22 years, moving here afer his retirement. A native of Carlinville, he was born July 24, 1881.

Mr. Hankins was a member of St. Mary's Parish. His wife, Julia, died In 1942, and his only survivor is a stepson, Thomas Fethke of Alton. The body is at Gent Chape'.

Arrangements for the funeral are pending. Wellington CARROLLTON John Wei lington, 88, a retired farmer, died Friday at 12:25 p.m. in Garnet Nursing Home, I Jerseyville, where he had been a patient 14 days. Hays, 60, a former resident of Carlinville, who died Wednesday in a Tucson, Ariz, hos pital, will be held at 2 p.m Sunday in Weise Funeral Home of Carlinville.

Garage Looted At County Seat wardsville Patrolmen Rick Luster and Alan Tremor discovered a break-in and burglary at South Side Garage, 1709 Troy early Friday morning. The police, patroling the area at 5:06 a.m. Friday, made a routine check of the building and discovered the rear door on the west side of the garage had been pried open.
