The Pantagraph Sunday, July 10, 2011 A7 Obituaries Funerals pending R. Weldon Benway STRAWN R. Weldon "Deke" Benway, 85, of rural Strawn passed away at 5:05 a.m. Saturday (July 9, 2011) at his home. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday at St. Rose Catholic Church, Strawn, with the Rev. Scott Archer officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Martin Funeral Home, Forrest, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.

An additional visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. prior R. Weldon R. Weldon to Mass at the funeral Benway home. Memorials may be made to St.

Rose Catholic Church, American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor's choice. Interment will be in the Strawn Township Cemetery. Deke was born Oct. 4, 1925, in rural Strawn, a son of Albert and Anna Rudolph Benway. He married Betty Harris on Feb.

21, 1950, at Lady of Lourdes Rectory, Gibson City. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Douglas (Sharon) Benway of Strawn; six grandchildren, Michelle (Kurt) Kietzman of Gibson City, Jason (Sherry) Birkenbeil of Lexington, Tyson (Amanda) Benway of Milton, Dustin (Christine) Benway of Mahomet, and Brenton way Kendall Hornstein, both of Strawn; seven great- -grandchildren, Mariah and Lexi Brucker, Kyra Kietzman, Craig and Evan Birkenbeil, and Coy and Kara Benway; one sister, Gloria Ann Rebholz of Chatsworth; one brother, Keith (Sharon) Benway of Sibley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Susan Birkenbeil; five sisters, Josephine Hatfield, Geraldine Rebholz, LaVerne Kurtenbach, Loretta Wiesinger and Helen Kelly; and four brothers, Joe, William, Jerome and Paul Benway. Deke farmed his entire life in rural Strawn.

He served as a Fayette Township Trustee for 19 years, Livingston County Zoning Committee, Strawn Cemetery trustee and as a St. Rose Catholic Church trustee from 1955 to present. Weldon was proud of his family and loved them all very much. He enjoyed his winter home and friends in Florida. He lived a full and happy life, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Ella Marie Bode; a brother, David Stubblefield; and a sister, Jan Evans. Mr. Stubblefield was a police officer in Danvers from 1981 to 1986 and also worked as a for Illinois State University for 20 years prior to retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1966 to 1970, serving three tours of duty in Vietnam.

He was a member of West Olive Faith United Methodist Church, Bloomington; a member of the John H. Kraus Post 454 V.F.W., Bloomington; was a former Cub Scout master of Pack Danvers; was a former volunteer firefighter and EMT for Danvers Fire and Rescue; and a former volunteer firefighter for Dale Township and Bloomington Township fire departments. 18, 1927, in Bloomington, to Van and Belle Miller. She married John Bagosy Sr. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on July 11, 2009. Alta is survived by one son, John (Tonda) Bagosy Jr.

of Normal; and two brothers, Ellis Miller of Iron River, and Roy Miller of Bloomington. In addition to her husband, John, Alta was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers. Alta was an avid dog lover and was never far from her faithful companion, Lady, who she loved very much. Alta was deeply loved and will be sadly missed. She was a kind and loving woman, she stood by and cared for her husband, mother, father and brother, providing round -theclock care for many years until their passing.

Her life We would like to express gratitude to each and every person who knew my Mom, Myrtle Daniels. A very special thanks to the 911 operator and the Odell EMT's especially Colleen Barrett, whose persistence and hard work allowed us to have additional time to accept MaMa's heavenly passing. Most of you only had the chance to know her during her more than 12 years with Alzheimer and Dementia. You knew her by her sparkling eyes, her laughter, and love of music and dance! These are only a few of the wonderful memories I have. She was a strong pillar of our family traveling to see us over land and sea.

Bell, 56, of Bloomington passed away at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday (July 6, 2011) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Pis gah Baptist Church, Bloomington, with the Rev.

Timothy Alphonso Bell was born on Sept. 8, 1954, in Bloomington, to the union of Wheeler and Lynteen M. Nathan Bell Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Quincy Artis of Peoria; his beloved daughter, Shaneice Nicole Bell of Bloomington; three grandchildren; sister, Lynda Blanche Bell of Park Forest; brother, Wheeler (Alverta) Bell Jr. of Hyattsville, sister, Teresa Marian Bell of Bloomington; brother, Robert Lawrence Bell of Bloomington; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Timothy was preceded in death by his parents. He grew up in Bloomington and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1972. Timothy worked the majority of his life at Illinois State University in the Food Service department.

During his tenure there, he mentored many student workers and was respected and loved by his co-workers. During his years of living and maturing into a wonderful father, good friend and respected advisor, he always looked for the good in others. He believed in God, read his Bible daily and prayed for God's direction. When relaxing, Timothy spent his time listening to jazz, cooking and engaging in sports. Joseph Roberts BLOOMINGTON Joseph "Joe" Roberts, 42, of Bloomington died at 9:46 p.m. Friday (July 1, 2011) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Service: Noon Monday at KiblerSmith Memorial Home, Bloomington, with Joseph Bishop Roberts Michael Taylor officiating. He is also survived by a good friend, Ben. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alexis Elizabeth White. He was affiliated with Pilgrim Holiness Church in Bloomington. Nathan worked at Kerry Food Industries making Gerber baby food and cereal and also was sent to California to train on a new process machine for the company.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Olive Faith United Methodist Church, Bloomington, with the Rev. John Tymonko officiating. Burial will be in East a Darwin Memorial Stubblefield Gardens, Darwin Stubblefield Bloomington, with military honors by the Bloomington Normal American Legion honor guard. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m.

He married Barbara Cook on April 19, 1969, in Jewett City, Conn.
