Kathryn Kaisner Gerber FAIRBURY Kathryn Kaisner Gerber, 98, Fairbury, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (July 18, 2007) at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury, with the ministers of the church officiating.

Burial will be at the South Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Fairbury. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs.

Gerber was born May 9, 1909, at Edelstein, the daughter of Jacob and Minnie Streitmatter Kaisner. She married Ernest Gerber on June 20, 1973, at Fairbury. He died July 26, 1979. Surviving are three stepsons, Everett (Nancy) and Melvin (Mildred) Gerber, both of Rockville, and Earl (Esther) Gerber, Forrest; and three stepdaughters, Rosetta (Elmer) Stoller, Forrest; Betty (Burt) Ensirik, Margall Viejo, and Marge (Gene) Fehr, Eureka. Also surviving are 28 stepgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one stepson. Mrs. Gerber was a homemaker and had been employed at the Keith Anderson Printing Shop in Fairbury for 10 years. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury. Johnson EL PASO Timothy P. Johnson, 22, El Paso, passed away Thursday (July 19, 2007) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal. The funeral for Mr. Johnson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta, with Tony Billingsley officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the St. Paul's Church Cemetery, Nokomis.

Mr. Johnson was born on Dec. 20, 1984, in Taylorville, the son of Anthony Dean and Donna K. Webb Johnson. Surviving Mr.

Johnson are his companion, Samantha Page, El Paso; his son, Thomas Anthony Johnson, El Paso; two sisters, Brooke Johnson, Lincoln, and Brandi Johnson, Lexington; one brother, Michael Meiners, Nokomis; and his mother, Donna Cole, Miami, Fla. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Johnson worked in construction.

Memorials can be made to the Thomas A. Johnson Education Fund. Maxine Johnston LATHAM Maxine Johnston, Latham, died Tuesday (July 17, 2007). She was born Feb. 13, 1916, a daughter of Frank and Bess Westerman of Maroa.

Maxine married John E. Johnston on July 5, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by four Maxine sons, John R. Johnston "Jack," Warrensburg; Gary L.

(Joyce), Hiawassee, Robert C. "Bob" (Joyce), Brownsburg, and Michael E. "Mike," Decatur; and one sister, Lucille Simpson, Heyworth. She has 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m.

Kerber, 88, Colfax, died at 5:15 a.m. Thursday (July 19, 2007) at Gibson City Area Hospital Annex, where he made his home for the last four years. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Colfax.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Colfax, or the Gibson Area Hospital Annex. Robert was born April 7, 1919, in Cropsey, a son of Grover and Gertrude Meyer Kerber. They preceded him in death. He married Verna C.

Hensen on June 27, 1946, in Gibson City. She died Aug. 2, 2000. Surviving are three daughters, Becky (John) Ramsey, House Springs, Diane (Earl) Buenting, Gifford; and Karen (Jim) Hipskind, Champaign; two brothers, Leo (Lynn) Kerber, Leesburg, and Paul (Jean) Kerber, Colfax; three stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one infant brother and one infant sister.

Robert was a lifelong farmer in the Anchor and Colfax area. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Colfax, and a longtime member of the McLean County Farm Bureau. He also was a trustee for Anchor Township. Robert enjoyed horses and mules.

and Lucy L. Luttrell Mercer. She married John W. McCulley on Feb. 10, 1946.

He died Feb. 19, 1999. Surviving are a son, Russell (Lila) McCulley, Minonk; brother, Max Mercer, Salem; two sisters, Gladys M. Kline, Texas, and Ann See, Alma; sister-inlaw, Dot McCulley, Kinmundy; two grandchildren, Lana (Kevin) Stimpert and Shane (Stacy) McCulley; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew McCulley and Erica Stimpert. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Verma Del Helm.

She retired in 1978 as a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Kinmundy and was formerly employed at Brown Shoe Co. and Salem Ice Fuel Co. She was a member of Kinmundy Christian Church, Kinmundy Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and National Association of Retired Federal Employee Postal Union. Opal Roy CARLOCK Opal B.

Schirch Roy of Harrisonburg, died of natural causes March 28, 2007. She was born Dec. 30, 1909, on a farm next to Carlock, a daughter of Ali and Eva King Stahly. Her memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday (July 22, 2007) at North Danvers Mennonite Church, with the Rev.

21, 1914, at Auburn, Iowa, to Fred and Gibson Jackson. She married Lester Dillow on Dec. 25, 1932, at Weldon. Lester passed away Oct. 9, 1980.

She later married John Walden on Oct. 6, 1986, in Clinton. John passed away Dec. 3, 1994. Surviving is one daughter, Llewellyn Sears, Clinton; one son, Gene (Michelle) Dillow, Decatur; two grandsons, Doug Owens, Champaign, and Jeff (Mandi) Dillow, Decatur; one granddaughter, Brooklyn Dillow, Decatur; one great son, Zak Owens; two greatgranddaughters, Alexa and Rylie Dillow; one brother, Kenneth (Wilma) Jackson, Clinton; and one sister, Shirley (Bob) Rueff, Clinton.

She is also survived by special friends, Joe Murray and Sharon Dillow. She preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Robbie Dillow; and two brothers. She was a retired beautician and she owned a neighborhood grocery in Clinton. She was a member of First Christian Church, Clinton. CLINTON Dorothy Dillow Walden, 92, Clinton, died at 7 p.m.

She was born March 28, 1923, in Odell, daughter Theodore and Josephine Verdun Trecker. She married John W. Zogg on June 27, 1946, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Odell. He died on Sept.

9, 1988. Surviving are three sons, John A. Zogg, Pontiac; Michael J. (Karen) Zogg, Peoria; and James T. Zogg, Rome, three grandchildren, Michael Zogg, Dennis Zogg and Jennifer (Cory) Huff; and two greatgrandchildren, Cameron Zogg and Olivia Huff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister. She had been a teacher in Ransom and at Pontiac Junior High School, Pontiac. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Odell. She received her education at St.

Christine Decker Christine Decker NORMAL Christine Decker, 103, of 509 N. Adelaide Normal, died at noon Wednesday (July 18, 2007) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Normal. She married Gottfried Decker on June 30, 1932, in Uerdingen, Germany. He died Aug. 22, 1982. Survivors include two daughters, Renate (William) Mueller, Dunlap, and Waltraud "Vi" (Paul) Friedrich, Heyworth; one son, Walter W. (Rebecca) Decker, Washington; 11 grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Christine was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Ada Belle Dunson BLOOMINGTON Ada Belle Dunson, 77, Bloomington, died at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday (July 18, 2007) at her home. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Bloomington.

Visitation will Ada be from 11 a.m. Dunson to 1 p.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ada Belle Dunson Memorial Fund at National City Bank in Bloomington are respectfully requested. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, has charge of arrangements.

Ada was born March 28, 1930, in Bloomington, a daughter of Frank Stoner and Mary Brown Stoner. Mrs. Dunson graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor of arts in special education and a bachelor of arts in elementary education. She was certified in early childhood, apartment management and as an obstetric technician. Ada received several awards: Baha Faith Awards; Cultural Feast Awards; Early Childhood Presentation Early Childhood Conferences Training Awards; and a 25 years of service award from Heartland Head Start.

Mrs. Dunson participated in numerous programs: director of Summer Youth Opportunity Program at Bloomington Housing Authority; commissioner for Bloomington Housing Authority Board; co-chairperson for Community Board that started McLean County Economic Opportunity which is now known as Community Action; and McLean County Economic Advisory Board. Ada was also a member of the Independence Head Start Board that helped start McLean County Head Start which is presently known as Heartland Head Start. Ada is survived by two daughters, Ardis Reyes, Iowa City, Iowa, and Rhonda (Reginald) Curry, Bloomington, with whom she resided; two sons, Dodie (Jaci) Dunson, Normal, and Dana (Jackie) Dunson, Shreveport, 13 wonderful grandchildren, Adia Dunson-Riggs, Eura Dunson, Ladwina Sullivan, Etenia Walker-Garcia, Reginald Dunson, Javier Garcia, Dana Dunson II, Dorian Dunson II, Brandon Dunson, Devin Dunson, Gavilan and Julianna Jewitt and Brandon Gay. She is further survived by nine greatgrandchildren, D'Mitri, Terry "T.J." and Nylah Riggs; Correon Jones; Taja Dunson; Asante' Adams; Ahjiahna Walker-Garcia; Amir Sanders; and Ahmir Kouangothonh; a sister, Margaret Gaines, Oakland, a brother, Robert Stoner, Joliet; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. Ada was a phenomenal woman, dedicated to her family and others. Mrs. Dunson loved to help other people. She felt that helping others kept her young at heart.

Eileen Malcom Romans NORMAL Eileen Malcom Romans, 90, of 510 Broadway, Normal, died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday (July 18, 2007) at ManorCare Nursing Home, Normal. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Church Bloomington, with Monsignor Douglas Hennessy officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill CemeLexington.

15, 1916, in Watseka, a daughter of George Edward and Frances Ellen Hayes Saul. She married Walter W. Malcom on Jan. 11, 1933, in Peoria. He died May 12, 1974.

She later married John L. "Jack" Romans on May 16, 1981, in Bloomington. He died Sept. 7, 2002. Surviving are two daughters, Colleen (Edward) Kominoski, Ellsworth, and Judy (Joe) Gibson, Bloomington; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand- She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Manes; a son, Clark Malcom; and a sister, Delores Keith.

Eileen graduated from Trinity High School and was employed for more than 30 years by State Farm Insurance Bloomington. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna, Bloomington. Richard H. Tarvin BLOOMINGTON Richard H.

Tarvin, Richard Tarvin 80, of 2025 E. Lincoln Bloomington, died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday (July 19, 2007) at Martin Health Center, Bloomington. His funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Calvert Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, with the Rev.

James Gilroy officiating. Burial will be in Funks Grove Cemetery, rural McLean. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the memorial home, with Masonic funeral rites at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Shirley Christian Church or Community Cancer Center.

He was born Dec. 27, 1926, at Champaign, son of Hugh and Ruby G. Smith Tarvin. He married Naomi G. Muffley on Aug.

18, 1945, at Shirley. She survives. Also surviving are a son, John (Sharon) Tarvin, Bloomington; two granddaughters, Kourtney Tarvin, Bloomington, and Heather (Travis) Young, Brentwood, two great-grandchildren, Reagan and Davis Young; and two sisters, Esther Kumler, LeRoy, and Donna Genzen, Bloomington. His parents and a sister, Charlotte Shannon, preceded him in death. Mr.

Tarvin began working in 1946 for the Hutchison General Store at Shirley, which became Culligan Water Conditioning in 1956. He received numerous awards and honors over the years, including being named five times for the V.I.P. award and serving two terms on the Culligan Dealers Advisory Council. He was proud to serve all his customers and clients as "The Culligan Man" here in McLean County for more than 50 years, He was a member of Hey" worth Lodge 251 and was a past master of Shirley Lodge member Bloomington Scottish Rite Bodies; the Mohammed Temple Shrine, Peoria; McLean County Shrine Club; and a mer member and Past Patron of Shirley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the McLean County Antique Car Club; a life member of Bloomington Elks Lodge 281; and a former member and trustee of the Dale Township Fire Department.

He had been an active member of the Shirley Christian Church, where he had served on the official board and sang in the choir for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
