OBITUARIES dren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. He was educated in Cornell Schools and a graduate of Cornell High School. He farmed for 25 years in the rural Odell area. He was a real estate agent for Century 21 and later owned and operated Graves Realty in Pontiac.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army; a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Pontiac; the Pontiac American Legion; Livingston County Farm Bureau; and Wolf Creek Country Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and bowling. Nancy Parshall GRIDLEY Nancy E. Parshall, 44, 4405 W.

Redbud Drive, Peoria, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Monday (Aug. 23, 2004) at her residence. Her funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at Christ on the corner of Lincoln and Baer Street, Peoria.

Entombment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. will be at Church of Nancy Parshall Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be directed to The Nancy Parshall Fund Union Planters Bank: OSF St.

Francis Hospice; or The American Lung Association. Nancy was born April 11, 1960, at Phoenix, a daughter of Robert A. and Helen M. Banks Gibson. She married John Parshall on May 23, 2001, at Peoria.

He survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Crystal (Jay) Stine, Gridley; and Chelsea Parshall, Peoria; three sons, Sean (Kimm) Heal, Phoenix, Bryan Cantwell II, Peoria; and Travis Parshall, Peoria; two grandchildren, Jaiden and Preston Stine, Gridley; six brothers, (Brenda) Gibson, Phoenix, Kenneth (Barbara) Mullenix, Sunrise, James (Gayle) Mullinex, Soddy Daisy, Donald (Jeri) Gibson, Tuscon, Mark (Sharon) Gibson, Vernon, and Gary Gibson, South Gate, and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. She worked as a C.N.A. for many years and was the co er of Tree Services, Peoria. She was being cared for by her family and OSF Hospice since June.

She was not just a loving mom, wife, sister, "Grandma on the Hill" and friend, but now is Daniel Schmid CISSNA PARK Daniel W. Schmid, 86, of Cissna Park died at 9:45 a.m. Monday (Aug. 23, 2004) at his home. A private graveside service will be at German Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Cissna Park.

Private family visitation will be at Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park. He was born Sept. 23, 1917, at Morris, to Karl and Karoline Kellerhals Schmid. He married Emma Neukomm on Dec. 10, 1944, at Cissna Park.

She died Dec. 27, 2002. Surviving are six sons, Benjamin (Ann) Schmid, Munster, Kenneth (Bette) Schmid, Milford; Richard Schmid, Rankin; and Aaron (Estherjean) Schmid, Marvin (Cynthia) Schmid and Mark Schmid, all of Cissna Park; five daughters, Kathryn Schmid and Lois (Ray Jr.) Steiner, both of Cissna Park; Norma (Ronald) Fehr and Lorene (Dennis) Slagel, both of Fairbury; and Lydia (Ronald) Brown, Kankakee; one brother, David (Elaine) Schmid, Fairbury; two sisters, Martha Bahler and Elizabeth Schick, both of Fairbury; 51 grandchildren; and two great dren. His parents; two brothers; two sisters; and one son, Daniel, preceded him in death. He was a farmer and a member of German Apostolic Christian Church, Cissna Park.

23, 2004) at her home. Helen was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Sibley, the daughter of Thurman J. and Florence Fisher Fulton. Helen Fulton and Floyd Underwood were united in marriage Aug.

26, 1944, in Sibley, where they farmed for over 40 years in the Sibley area. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was the organist for many years, prior to retiring to Branson, in 1983. Survivors include her husband, Floyd Underwood of the home; two sons, Ronald (Judy) Underwood, Hillsboro, and Timothy (Debra) Underwood, Lake Havasu City, two daughters, Teresa (Lyle) Poppe, Kansas City, and Cathie (Jack) Foster, Bolivar, 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and four sisters, Peg Anliker, Villa Grove; Ruth Farney, Delavan; Thelma Wurzburg. er, Gibson City; and Murial Burns, Bloomington. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Polly Sears; and one brother, Robert Fulton.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a 1951 graduate of Tremont High School and a 1956 graduate of Bradley University, where he received his degree in architectural design. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1956 to 1960.

He attained the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade and served with the Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VW-12) in the Pacific. He worked for Komatsu from 1960 until his retirement as president of the Haulpak Division in 1995. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, serving as president from 1955-1956. He also a member of the Sigma Chi Alumni Association. He served on the Bradley Council and was president from 1998-2000.

He also served on the Chiefs Club Board at Bradley; the Salvation Army Board; the Channel 43 PBS Board; South Side Mission Board; and the Bradley University College of Engineering and Tech Executive Advisory Council. He served on the Oak Run Property Owners Association Board, serving as its president from 1996 to 1998. He served as a Little League baseball coach in Morton and as an IHSA Basketball State Tournament team host from 1996 to 2003. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church in Morton, where his funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev.

He later married Barbara Starkey on July 25, 1987, at Danville. She survives. He was married to Marjorie McCartney. She died March 5, 2003. Surviving are his son, Larry D. (Sharon) Gee of Bloomington; his daughters, Janet Sue Bullinger of Mansfield; and MaraBeth Jones of Bloomington; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers and Herta Jurgelas NORMAL Herta H.

Jurgelas, 84, of 901 N. Main Normal, formerly of Heyworth, died 3 at 5:40 p.m. Monday (Aug. 23, 2004) at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m.

She was born Nov. 7, 1919, in Lithuania. She married Vincent Jurgelas in 1938, in Lithuania. He died 1948. He married Mary Eloise Cross Nevius on July 22, 1967, at Bloomington. She survives. Also surviving are two stepsons, Terry Nevius of Bloomington; and Vaughn Nevius of Normal; two stepgrandchildren, Ryan Clinton Nevius and Sarah Ann Nevius; and several cousins including Ronald Weeks of Normal.

His parents preceded him in death. He was a member of Covell Community Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a corporal during the Korean conflict from 1953 until 1955. He farmed for many years in the Cropsey area.

After retiring in 1971, Gerald did craft shows in the Central Illinois area. Gerald enjoyed fishing with his grandson, Ryan, and friend, Allen Corbit, and spending time with his special granddaughter, Sarah. He will be greatly missed.
