A Mystery. On Thursday of last week a tragedy occurred in IUade towcf.hlp that startled Ibat community and bus been the theme for con- Jecture ever since, ferry Troxell, a well- known citizen, resides between the vlllaze of Flloton on tbe Cresson Coaljoit railroad and the village ot Glasgow on tne Bells Gap railroad about a mile and a bait from the latter place. Deis a prosperous and well-to-do farmer, past Hiiddie lite, with bis family all grown np and having homes of their own. Ada Flynn, about twenty years of age. a grand-daughter, resided with him, having been raised by Mr.

Troxell since her infancy. She was a bright and handsome young lady whom Mr. Troxell and his wife treated as a daughter and who was a comfort to their declining years. On that morning. Mr.

Troxell and his wife went to a picnic at AUemaosvllle and left Ada to kesp bouse along with a little niece, a daughter of Jacob Troxell, who resides on an adjoining farm. During the forenoon tbe two girls closed op tbe bouse and went to gather berries tn the fields close by. Near coon the girls returned and when passing the residence ot a neighbor woman Ada informed the woman that she felt afraid to go back on account of some strangers having been eeen In the neighborhood and borrowed a revolver from the lady. On reaching Ue house Ada told the little girl that there were robbers la the bouse and to go to her fathers for help. The little girl at first demurred, but finally went to ber father's, Jacob Troxell'a and Informed him that there were robbers over at ber uncles.

He started over and on reaching tbe Ihouse found Ada lying on the porch with a bullet bole In ber breast and In tbe agonies of death. An examination of the premises snowed a bullet bole on tbe Inside facing of tbe door frame, one In the wood bouse facing tbe porch another In tbe right breast of the victim and the revolver she bad borrowed lying on the porch with three chambers empty. The conclusion that she had been murdered was at once decided upon and In a short time quite a number of people gther-ed to the scene and two men who bad been seen by a boy passing along a road in tbe neighborhood were snspected ot doing tbe dastardly deed. A messenger was sent to Coal port, who telegraphed to Panxsutaw-ney and two men who left Coal port on the train were arrested at Mahafley and brought back, but they at once established their Innocence by proving by Mr. Michael Quartz, a conductor on tbe Ci esson Coal port railroad, that at tbe time of the murder they were on bis train.

The theory that she was ordered was the only theory tb'mght of at Ctst and It would have been bad bad any suspicious characters been found in tbe neighborhood, as tbe people were fearfully aroused and It wonld have required out little to have Induced them to take tbe law In their own bands- Since then, tbe theory of suicide has been suggested and It seems to be tbe more probable, although there seems to be no known motive. Ada had been to tbe village of Glasgow a few days before, and while in a store there had been examining and pricing a revolver and bad been making Inquiries as to where was tbe most fatal place to be shot She went away without pnrcbasiog the revolver, bat it seems to be an indication that her mind was somewhat bent towards shooting. At tbe house nothing was taken away, and her trunk which was found open had a small amount of money, a gold watch and some Jewelry lying in fnll view, and had robbery been the object of the parties doing the deed, would certainly have been taken. Some people are Inclined to tbe belief that she was murdered. That on going to the house she tret the parties In the act of robbery, that she knew them and that in cider to seal her lips, having been caught at robbery tbey did not hesitate to murder.

The case is a mystery and nnless something more turns up will likely remain so. Since the above was In type we learn tbat the Coroner's inquest has, after viewing tbe body and the surrounding circumstances, rendered a verdict that Ada Flynn was murdered by an unknown person or persons. It Is also said that the relatives of tbe murdered girl have offered a reward of 2.oo0 for tbe apprehension of ber murderers. 1'ell froiu Tree. On Sunday evening about 6 o'clock, while a number of boys were sathericg nots from some tree on tbe bill above Cambria just across tbe Pennsylvania railroad from McCunaufthy's brick yard, one cf them.

Joe lioitzmaji, on account of the breaking cf a limb, fell to tbe Etound. a distance cf about fifty feet, lie fell on bis back and was uusble to move, bis companions gathered arouca blm. and some of the neighbors quickly made a litter of some bedclothes on wblcb be was carried to tbe borne of bis parents. So. Chestnut street, in Cambria.

Dr. Kobertson. of Cambria, was sent for and at once ret-poDded. Upon examina- tlon he pronounced bis back and one of the ribs broken, but thought the srinal comma uninjured, nd gate It as bis opinion tbat the boy would recover. The iDjured lad is a son of Mr.

G. Holtzs man, and la about sixteen years of age and was employed in George Kltch's coaj bank in Lower Toder township. He wae a steady, industrious boy and Ms services were much needed in helping bupport the family. Johnstoxcn Democrat. MAKRIAWt UCEVilJI IPJMCED.
