Some of the papers have published the statement that Gov. Butler had made Gov. Jarvis a present of a flock of sheep. Gov. Jarvis says he has never heard of the aforesaid sheep.

He saw many of them in New England, but neither Gov. Butler or any, one else gave him any, nor has he heard of their intention of so doing, lie attended four fairs while away. At all the exhibitions were excel-lert. One of the incidents of the trip was a visit to the famous works of the Winchester arms company at New HaVen.
