Byron Talk Scheduled Congregational Unit Elects. Installs OAKLAND Congressman Goodloe E. Byron will address of the Garrett County Business and Professional Women's Club and guests tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. at Point View Inn, McHenry. The GCBPWC has invited all area women's groups to meet with Congressman Byron who has expressed a desire to meet with people in his district.

There will be a question and answer period in the session. The Garrett County Commissioners and Congressman Byron will be dinner guests of the club in the dining room at Point View at 6:15. The congressman will address the group in the downstairs lounge. invitations have been issued to The League of Women Voters, Junior Woman's Civic Ciub, Civic Club of Oakland, Delta Kappa Gamma and the AAUW. Congressman Byron will talk about important issues coming up in this Legislature, strip mining and land use, his views on energy and the use of gasoline, the power of committee chairmen and his view of the reorganization in Congress, and any issues he feels would be of especial interest to women.

Keith Greig and Calvin Swauger. Men Plan Event Feb. 21 FROSTBURG Frostburg United Methodist Men will hold a dinner meeting at the Lane Center on the Froslburg Stale College campus Friday, February 21, at 7 p. m. Owen Preston, minister of the Church of the Brethren in Berlin, will speak.

The program will also include music. "Ladies Night" will be observed. Tickets are available from T. William Preston, coordinator; any of the United Methodist Men or from the church office. Reservations must be in at the Lane Center by Friday, February H.

MEETING HELD Pioneer Class of Welsh Memorial Baptist Church met with Jane Harrison presiding at the business session. A monetary gift was given to the bus fund in memory of departed members. Madeline Holt and LaVern Kerr presented the program. Ethelyn Ilanna conducted devotions and also offered a poem entitled, "Love." "A Friend" and "Never Borrow Sorrow from Tomorrow" were given by Mrs. Holt.

A comedy skit about "Dennis the Menace" was enacted by Mary Beth Bevan, Margaret Walsh and LaVern Kerr. Hostesses were Mary. Reidler, Jane Harrison, Mary Jane Densmore and Elizabeth Workman. Others attending were Mary McLuckie, Lena Simmons, Sara Jane Davis, Fern Thomas and Jennie Bowser. The group 'will meet Friday at 7:30 p.

m. in the social hall with Mrs. Harrison in charge of the business session. Devotions and the program will be presented by Mary Jane Densmore, Margaret Walsh, and Mary McLuckie. Refreshments will be served by Sara Jane Davis, Mary Beth Bevan and Madeline Hott.

SALE FEB. 15 Branch of the American Association of University Women will hold a rummage sale February 15 at the Frostburg Community Center for the benefit of the scholarship fund. Members are asked to bring articles to Lnrian Deuel, 64 West College Avenue, or Gladys Broadwater, 137 East Main Street. Volunteers will also be needed to work at the sale. Meet Tuesday FROSTBURG The Ladies Auxiliary of Frostburg Aerie 1273, FO Eagles, will meet Tuesday at 8 p.

m. with Maxene Helzpresiding. FROSTBURG Frostburg Chapter 15, Order of Eastern Star, will meet Wednesday at 3 p. m. in the Masonic Temple with Helen Phillips, worthy matron, and Merrill Phillips, worthy patron, presiding.

A Valentine program will be presented by Mrs. Phillips and her officers. The business session will be followed by a social hour with Mrs. Gladys Porter, Mr. and Mrs.

William Kroll and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Powell serving refreshments. HOLD SESSION The Girl Scout Neighborhood meeting was held at Frostburg United Methodist Church with Mrs. Paul Cairl presiding.

Reports were given- by Mrs. Viola Michael and Paul Cairl. Nancy Biggs, field assistant, issued forms for the training sessions. Jo Hall reported on Neighborhood events. A bowling party was planned for February 22 and "Thinking Day" has been set for February 25 at the Frostburg Community Center, according to Mary Skidmore.

Mary Grim was appointed chairman of "Girl-Scout Week" and Sharon Koch, chairman for "Brownie Day." Mrs. Cairl reported that girls of the Neighborhood have served 1,990 hours in the Tri- Neighborhood since September 16,1974. Mrs. Joann Fiorita, Mt. Savage and Mrs.

Paula Beeman of-Pullen School attended the session. MARKEVENT The Frostburg Homemakers Club observed their 31st anniversary with a covered dish dinner in Fellowship Hall of Frostburg United Methodist Church. Sixty-four members attended. Following the meal Margaret Jones, president, presented birthday recollections of the early days of the club, mentioning the former presidents. The hymn of the month, "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing," was presented by Mary Jane Coleman with Marion Charles at the piano.

Guest soloist, Lorian Deuel, sany "Hymns of the Old Church Choir" and "When I Lost You." She was accompanied by Alice Shupe. Mary McLuckie presented a reading, "Windows of Gold," and Grace Filer, a humorous reading, "The Brussels Carpet." Allegany County representatives who were guests of the North Carolina Homemakers last summer submitted reports on their trip. Sharing their experiences Margaret Johnson and Rosalie Everstine who were introduced by Nina Suder. Mary Wise, Allegany County Extension -agent for home economics, was a guest. The meeting closed with the singing of "Memories." STUDENT CITED Sara Ann Woods has been named Paw Paw High School's 1974-75 "Betty Crocker Family Leader of Tomorrow!" She won the honor by competing with other seniors in the written knowledge and attitude examination.

She is now eligible for state and national honors and will receive a specially designed award from General Mills, sponsor of the annual educational scholarship program. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Woods, her school activities have included membership in the National Honor Society, Student Council, Pep Club and band.

She has served as president of the Junior Class, a member of the Junior Class play; a representative for three years to the district Student Council, and was selected as queen of the harvest ball in her sophomore year.
