Spraying pays as nearly every fruit grower will tell you. Sometimes it means the difference between a crop 6r no crop at all, but more often it's a difference between a top quality crop and a poor quality crop. Your spray dealer' or your county agricultural agent can tell you what sprays to use. A handy coop, like this one Devon Shepley is using, can be used to hold cull hens after they have been picked out. If you start finding eggs in the coop, better check again to see which hen is doing the laying. Devon uses this coop for broody hen* as well as culls. It is always a good idea to keep the listless and less active ' hens separate for a while. Then if they don't lay or show any improvement, it's best to dispose of them.
