director warned that civilian driving would have to be cut voluntarily or the Pacific coast gasoline shortage would re sult in some and mandatory system Graves said he was told by offi cials of the Office of Defense Transportation and Petroleum Ad ministration for war that the gas shortage possibly would affect public transportation systems and may mean a nearly complete breakdown of private common stock led the whole mar ket in turnover while the pre ferred issues had gains ranging to 14 points at the highs They held a major portion of the rise Wil son and Company was active and firm Lee
