Here's a little dope in regard to the Federal gas tax refund blanks. We have not received a supply of application blanks as vet, but when we do, we. will distribute them to every bank m the county. The application will cover the period from January 1, 1956 to June 30, 1956. You will have from July 1, 1956 to September 30, 1956 to file an application on the first one-half year's gas. No hurry yet, since we are just starting the month of June, A Columbus, Ohio, motion picture theater may be entered by anyone without ticket or charge; contributions are accepted in accordance with patrons' evaluation of the entertainment. Bancroft Girl Named Prexy By 4-H Girls Jan Clark, president of the Blue-White 4-H club of Bancroft, was elected Kossuth county presU dent of the girls "4-H clubs at the annual Rally Day held Saturday, May 21, at the Swea City school. Other new county officers are: vice president, Eunice Gadc of the Cresco Chums, Bode; secretary-treasurer, Lois Willfong of the RiverdaJe Rustlers I, St. Joe; historian, Marlys Goetz of the Wesley Wizards, Wesley. Installation of the new officers was the final business of the afternoon. Mrs Henry Looft of Seneca, a long-time leader in 4-H work and at present the Kossuth County ?irls committee chairman, was initiated as an honorary member during the afternoon program. Hagne Skeisevold of Norway, an international Farm Youth exchange representative, addressed the group during the morning session, the Country Girl's Creed was given by Mary Ilia Erpelding of Algona, member of the Union Aletheans. Distinguished guests introduced included: Dean Barnes, county extension director; Bob Johnson, youth assistant; Roger Dreyer of Fenton, county 4-H boys president; Roger Linde of Swea City, 1954 honorary member of 4-H; Mary Staudt, county home economist; Ethel Whitstone of Ames, girls state 4-H chairman; and Mrs C. C. Inman of Bancroft, State Farm Bureau Women's chairman. More than 500 girls and their leaders were present for the all- day affair. Street Facelifting Four blocks of Titonka streets got a thorough refinishing job Tuesday when county equipment came in and tore them up so that all rough spots could be complet- ly removed. Kollasch that taxes on Personal Property, a two room movable bldg. on leased land, be suspended In the name of Joseph 8. and Verna Elizabeth Anderson. AYES: All. NAYS: None. MOTION CARRIED. Motion by C. H. Newel and seconded by John H. Rode that transfer be made from Bovine T. B. to Emergency Fund In the amount of $2,000.00.
