county library the gar den gate clubs and from individual youngsters were displayed and prizes were awarded The showing lasted from 2 to 10 and was in charge of Miss Zina Coe play ground craft director Mrs Norma Ramelli was in charge of entries for the contest while judges were Miss Muriel Goodwin and Mr Dar rel Cain The exhibit and program was under the direction of Mr Higgins recreation super intendent During the afternoon the inter mediate band under the direction of Mr elton Hickman played and at 3 a softball game managed by Buddy Garfinkle was played The Reno Mattress team defeated the Stewart Park nine 18 to 8 In the evening the recreation band played several numbers and youngsters representing each of the playgrounds presented skits Many parents and interested friends attended In charge of the skits were directors from the six parks participating They were Pat urchner and Hans' Wolfe of Mt Rose Gwen Byrd Evans Park Doris Maloney and Dick Whitaker Park Virginia Gardner McKinley Park Anita Coats Highland Terrace and Jo Ann Erb and Buddy Gar finkle Stewart Park Whitaker Park won the cup for lhe most attractive original and complete playground exhibit The winning display included a mina ture of their park with children at play Last year Whitaker Park I also won the cup which will be come a permanent possession of any park that wins it three years in succession Evans Park received second place ribbon for the park display and Highland Terrace won third The following youngsters won cash awards and special recreation ribbons for exhibits in the
