CO. May 26, 1980 19-B By JACKIE BROOKS Staff Writer The producers of That's Incredible got more than they bargained for when Columbia entertainer Carl Skenes did his bullet catch for the show. Performing the stunt for the first time in public, Skenes made the tiniest of movements and ended up scratched but triumphant he did catch the bullet. His performance was taped last week in Los Angeles and is scheduled for tonight's That's Incredible at 8 o'clock on ABC. (Columbia Chanel 25) A former magician, Skenes is putting together a night -club act that includes mental telepathy, hypnotism and the bullet catch.

"We'd been working on the bullet catch for approximately two months, and then I decided to go further than with just statewide publicity," said Skenes. "I had my publicist contact That's Incredible, and we went from there." The show paid all expenses for Skenes and his sharpshooter and two other crew members. Taping was done all of one day for slowmotion shots and another day 1 in the studio for the show. "They don't do things in sequence," he said. "When we taped, my particular segment was the first, but it CARL SKENES won't be first on the show.

You must resist the temptation to rebid two spades. With all your points in prime cards, you really have a fine supporting hand for partner, so you don't want to make any bid that might sound at all discouraging. Keep partner interested in the proceedings by raising his suit. If partner has spade support, he will surely show it over your club raise, but he won't show it over a two spade rebid if he has a minimum.

However, to cater to the possibility that hearts might be a superior trump suit partner could easily have four or more hearts on this auction- -you should show your second suit now. If you cue-bid instead, you will never be able to convince partner of your heart length later. I Rebidding three hearts will also leave your side much better placed to handle further competition from the opposition. 9.3 As South, vulnerable, you hold: 9 QJ83 0 K8742 The bidding has proceeded: North East South West 2 Pass 2 NT Pass 3 9 Pass What do you bid now? What started off as a rather ordinary hand has suddenly become very good.

It is simply a question of how many hearts you should bid. Four is a gross underbid; six hearts is a slight overbid. We would compromise with a jump to five hearts.
