The Bulldop drove to the Muskogee 17 before running out of downs but tha Roughen were in the hole and they spent much of the second half there aa a result The very next possession the Bulldop had a pass Intercepted by the Roughen at the three yard Una but that was as good as a well placed punt and Muskogee methodically drove to the Bulldog 35 before a fourth down situation was decided by tha Bulldog defense once more. That ended the third quarter and though Okmulgee lad control the score was still deadlocked 54. Okmulgee fumbled away Bat possession at tha Muskogee 37 and after failing to move the next Bulking poasessioa -Mike James punted to the Roughen. They fumbled the reception and Rod Butts Jumped on the loose boll at the Roughen six yard line.

Loading rusher in the game was the talented Rougher senior tailback Darren Hannah with US yardfn 35 but Okmulgee's figursuvshiot with 101 yank mv.II attempts. Offensively and defensively it was well balanced play by lots of Bulldop that spelled victory over the arch rival to the east as is evidenced by the variety of statistics that come from any completed ballgame. Offensively in addition to Butts rushing, Keith Jones1 carried 13 times for 30 yards, Steve Mangum carried six times for 10 and Steve Titsworth carried five times for eight yards. The extra point run failed spin but the Bullpup had control at this point 344. Muskogee struck back on a 75 yard drive to score on the final play end the scare 34-13. The four fumbles recoveries were the key to the game as Jason Crime, Rick Hoes, Scott Revenue, Darrel Ruff each recovered fumbles. The key player for the Bullpupe was Rusty Lewie who rushed 314 yards in 13 carries and netted all four Bullpup touchdowns. Jason Crime was the next 1 by kicking 3 extra The Bullpups had only 5 yards fat passing by cemptatmg one pass out of 4 attempts. Muskogee scored first in the pme by taking a 55 yard offensive drive, early in the pme and scoring with 5:15 left In the first quarter.

The extra point attempt was no good and Muskogee led 44. The first half was discouraging to the Bullpups as Muskogee kept them from scoring on several occasions. On Okmulgees first poeaeasioa of the game, Crime recovered a fumble frith 5:33 left In the first half but the Pup were unable to score. With 3 minutes left Cowboys Begin Season With Win in the first half another Pup fttmble was recovered by Darrel Ruff and still the Pup were unable to get Into the pme offensively. But the second half came with the Bullpup confidence refreshed and the Pup scared right off with a 53 yard drive with only 5:35 left In the third Lewis made the touchdown with a 45 yard run on a counter play.

The extra point kick by Crime waa counted good and the F1q were back in the game 74. Two key plays in the third quarter pve the Pup 1 a deflnate vantage. Tha first was a bad snap by Mushepe queeteack to erhlch Okmulgee took over on the 5 yard line and scored on tha next play with Lewis rushing spin for 5 yards. The extra point kick was apia good by Crime and the score was 144. Another key defensive play on Muskogees next possession set up another scoring drive for the Pupa.

Rick Heaa recovered a Muskogee fumble with 5 minutes to in the third quarter. Following a 4 yard pin by Jason Crime; Lewis rushed 35 yank far his third The extra point run attempt was no good but the score had lengthened Dewar kat 75 yards to penalties. Fairland had 104 yards to nmhing while having 3 passing attempts, no eompfotiona and one Interception. Fairland kat 43 yards to penalties. Dewar will beat home once apta next week when they boat tha 0-8 Begp Demons.

Area Scores 3nd quarter as Fairiand's Ron Hile recovered an Upshaw fumble in the endione. Fairiands 3 point conversion was no good. However Fairiand's first score came earlier in the 3nd quarter when Kyle Funk made a 4 yard run to put Fairland on the board.

Going into the halftime the Dragona were trailing 144. The third quarter was scoreless but the Dragon's pulled themselves together in the 4th quarter with a scoring drive that ended with a 4 yard run by Jipimy BurweU. Upshaw ran the 3 point conversion to lengthen the score to 14-14, the final score of the pme. pH haw was Dewars leading rusher with IDS yards in 13 carries. IX-war had 144 yards in rushing BY LAURIE FULLER Times Sports Writer The Dewar Dragons racked up 151 yards in total offense Friday night to come up with a tight 14-14 victory over Fairland.

The Dragons were on home turf for the first time this season and were looking for confidence after losing to county rival, the Morris Eagke, last week in Morris. Dewar was the first to score in the. first quarter when Dragon quar-' terback Greg Upshaw made passing contact with Adrian Arthur with 4:41 on the clock. The 3 point conversion which was the key to Dewar's victory, was a pasa from Upshaw to Steve Box. Turnovers hurt the Dragons in the another Muskogee team, Muskogee West Jones gamed two yards on the next play, but followed with a fumble that ended the Pokes' scoring threat.
