When death lays its chilling hand upou the aged pilgrim, or when it beckons away the infant not yet strengthened to buffet the storms ot life, we feel thai one has oven ins days oi useiuiness and gone to his reward, while the other was hut an angel lent a few days to show ita friends the road to a bet ter land. But when a young girl just building Into womanhood, lull ol life und hope, surround ed by loving friends and endeared to associates una couliuues, is blrlckcu Dy Oisease, and taken from Ihe embrace of those who loved her beyond human estimate, pause silent and inconsolable before a dipen.sat inn of Providence none oun fin horn. Minnie, a ISyearolddaughterof Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Kotheruiel, ol crplay, passed from the scene of life on Friday morning last af-leran illness of seveial mouths with thai of our climate, consumption.

The best medical skill and the most assiduous attention was given her, but notwithstanding the prayers that she miuht be snared, uii thai could be bestowed tiimo her, the fatal dis-esse eonld not he hiithVd, and her gentle spirit returned to Him who guve it. Minnie Kothermel was more thau an ordinary girl. She was especially courteous to her seniors, considerate of Ihe desires of her companions, and industrious in her studies. Mie was an advanced scholur iu the Conlav School. time before being taken wilh tier sickness had assumed the responsibilities of a class teacher in the Cojday Sunday School.

She guve every promise of a life that would have been a blessing and comfort to her now afflicted parents, and an honor to herself and the community. It is but paving a Just tribute to her memory to say that lic was loved by nil who knew her. Those who hud only a oasual acquaintance will mourn with her relatives over their irreparable loss. Her lite though brief, is worthy of studv and and as her asuoeistes speak of her none will re- nieuioei an uiiKinu worn or sentiment from the lips that are now silent lorevcr. We shall not Htlernnt to sueak of the irreat loss to i.er Their consolation will come trom a higher ami purer source than human lips or pen.

The fut-e-ral took place on Mouday last, and was very largely attended, the Copley Sunday Sehocil turning out in a body. D. Seiiindel and B. A. Leintmch were the oltieiatiug clergymen ou the occasion.

The bride was elegantly and tasletullv dressed, and look ed beautiful, as she always does, while the groom was also handsomely attired. Alter the conclusion of the ceremony which made the twaiu oue, congratulations came, ami then all sat down to an elegant repast, as tempting to the eyes as it. was to the tastes of the guests. The bill of fare was very extensive, and embraced a great variety of tempting articles. Full and generous respect was paid to the banquet, and happiness reigued without the slightest obstruction.

After a pleasant and social time, extendiug to a late hour, the newly married pair took possession of their new home, ready furnished and in order, formerly the property of John L. Hotl'mau, deceased, on Linden street, near Ninth, where may they long live in perfect joy. That, the genial gentleman and his fair bride will weave sunshine in and about their home 110 one who knows them doubts for a moment. That prosperity may continue with them, that their happiness may be secure, that, every cloud which may hover over them shall have a silver lining, is the wish of all of their many friends.
