CLASSIFIED SATURDAY, MAY 1 5, 2021 OTTAWA CITIZEN Bll Obituaries 1 SAUVE, Marcel "Ted' ROCKBURN, Gary Joseph March 21, 1943 May 12, 2021 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary at the age of 78. Gary is survived by his loving partner Leda Millar, former wife and cherished friend, Donna Rockbum, daughters, Brenda Rockbum (Herbert), Terri-Lynn Seymour (Dean) and Tracey Gillies (Rod); grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Ava and Grace. Gary will be greatly missed by his siblings, Sandra (James Miller), Raymond, Uoyd (Louise), Vicki (Gil Undblad), Donna (Roger Dumais), Wendy, and Pat (Use). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. We are eternally grateful to the dedicated staff of Lanark Lodge who treated Gary like family.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will take place at a later date. In his way, it might have been his plan to be sure that sons David and Bruce, both living out of town, would be here to provide support to his loving wife Joan of sixty-three years. Lome grew up in Westboro to parents Fred and Ethel along with surviving siblings Lois and Jean and predeceased siblings Ken, Donald, Art and Joan.

With wife Joan, Lome raised sons David and Bruce in Bell's Comers, adding daughters-in-law Barri and Brig rite. Proudly known as Pa to Cameron (Mallory), Ashrynn (Matt), Christopher, Chelsea, and Caden and Great-Grandpa to Cole and Blake. Lome leaves to mourn sister-in-law Joan (Art), brother-in-law Barrie (Joan), sister-in-law Helen and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lome was happiest and proud when with family and friends. He was especially proud that all his grandchildren are avid Ottawa Senator fans.

Lome gave tirelessly to the community through the 608 and 708 coaching hockey and baseball in Bell's Comers plus many roles with Nepean Minor Hockey Association. He was also an active member of the Nepean Lions Club through the 708 and 808. Supporting minor sports and community was at the core of countless volunteer hours. After retirement Lome was a familiar face to many local golfers as a course Marshal and as a Goodwill Ambassador at the Ottawa Senators games for many years. Lisa Melienczuk and Carolyn, Dr. Patricia Mouaikel plus the many health care professionals for their special care. He is survived by his brother James (Shirley). Ted was a man of integrity; a loyal friend and he took great pride in his family. He had a generous spirit filled with infectious optimism. He will be remembered by his loved and loving family, including his wife of 67 years Sheila (Neville), two daughters Mary Jane Shields and Maggie Shields Corden.

He will also be missed by two grandchildren, Thomas Corden and Katie Chesbro (Collin) and two wonderful great-grandchildren, Gibson and Lawson Chesbro. Tom is survived by one brother, Brian of Victoria, B.C. and was predeceased by his sister Helen Hensler of New Jersey. He was the son of Timothy (Tommy) Shields and Jean (Newton). Tom spent 25 years in the Military and then another 12 years at the House of Commons.

In retirement he spent many happy hours at the Orpheus Society and Ottawa LitUe Theatre designing and helping to build beautiful sets. There are many people who have helped us along this journey, including the Knights of Columbus and the Friday Night Dinner Group. Many thanks also to Veteran's Affairs Canada. Their support was greatly appreciated. A special thank you must go to all the staff at Bridewood Retirement Residence, they treated him like he was their own father.

Peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday May 9, 2021 at the age of 69. Never one to complain, Bob bravely fought his 20 year battle with a brain tumour. Beloved husband of Mary Cohan-Pekarchuk. BobFather to Paul Cohan (Trish) and Jay Cohan (late Maureen). Father of Ryan Pekarchuk and Robyn Jansma (Dave).

Popie to Melissa Cameron Cohan, Kristie Dunlop (Nathan), Kyle Beaulieu (Sophie), Shayne Cohan, Vance Kass Jansma. Gram pie to Erika (Kellie Chapman). Bob also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bom and raised in Kenora Ontario, Bob enjoyed travelling back to his roots in Northwestern Ontario to visit family and fish at Locke Bay on the Winnipeg River. Bob loved to travel and was an all-around athlete in his younger days, playing baseball, skiing, and West Carieton Old Timers Hockey. Many memories were made with family and friends on ski vacations throughout Ontario, Quebec and parts of the United States. Bob Mary enjoyed many wonderful and memorable trips together and had a particular affinity to cruises.

Some of their favourite trips took them to Alaska, Portugal, the Mediterranean, Australia New Zealand, South America and camping in the USA Canada. They also enjoyed many family visits to South Carolina. As a dedicated member of the Bethel United Church in Kinbum, he played a large part with the Church food booth each year at the Carp Fair. He always had an entrepreneurial spirit as he dabbled in many business ventures over the years such as a microbrewery, break-dancers showcase, canoe rentals, and managing a popular local rock band. Something that was near and dear to Bob's heart was his love of football.

He was highly involved in the The Ottawa Rough Riders Alumni Association and was a season ticket holder for many years for the Rough Riders and the Redblacks. Bob was probably best known for his great sense of humour, and was still cracking Jokes right until the end. The family would like to thank the nurses and PSWs from Bays ho re Nursing who tended to Bob and gave him the utmost respectable care. They'd like to specially thank Dr. Space and nurse Victoria for the special care received.

Respecting Bob's wishes there will be no funeral service; at a later date a private family gathering will be held to celebrate his life. AT 1 .1 RYAN, Celine Mary (nee Monaghan) On May 5, 2021 at the age of 92, Celine passed away peacefully. She was bom on January 25, 1929 in Smiths Falls, ON to the late William and Anna (Hale) Monaghan. Celine was predeceased by her husband of almost 60 years, Philip Stephen Ryan (2011).

She is survived by her children Margaret (Bruce) Penniston, Susan (John Mader), Jane (Brian) Lindsay and Greg (Geraldine Stack), her beloved grandchildren Michael, Erin, Janet, CarUin and Kiera, great-grandson Odin and her sisters Margaret (Elwood) Lackfe and Sandra (George) Wyman. She was predeceased by nine siblings. Also survived by many loving and much-loved nephews and nieces, and numerous friends. Celine grew up in Smiths Falls. She loved riding horses, ice skating and all dogs.

Celine was a great storyteller. One such story was talking about her eariy work as a Bell Telephone operator, helping to cheer up the returning WWII troops who would call the Bell switchboard just to hear a woman's voice. She was a bom artist who loved to paint and particularly encouraged her children and grandchildren to use the artistic talents they inherited from her, as well as her love and empathy for animals of all kinds. Throughout her life she was known as a caring person who made everyone feel welcome. She and Phil fostered two children, and opened their home to a teen aged friend, unofficially adopting Ellen and later her children became part of the extended family.

Even when her Alzheimer's progressed, her dominant characteristic was that of gracious hostess. Celine's family wish to extend their gratitude to the caring staff of Granite Ridge (Stfttsville). Nepean ON K2J 4G3, (613)-823-4747 or wwwartJonrnemoiaLcaen SMITH, Roy Dowries It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and brother on May 10, 2021 at Valley Stream Manor in Ottawa. Roy was the second youngest of six children from the family of Urban Earle Smith and Ada Bertha Jackson. Roy, in his 89th year, was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years Jean Lois Brisco (Nee Smith) and four siblings Gwendolyn Isobel, Shirley Edna, Wesley Uoyd, and Jackson Earle. Roy is survived by his three sons Philip Loren (Emely), Steven David (Catherine), and Kevin Andrew, his grandchildren Imogen Rose and Georgina Ury and his devoted brother Leigh Urban. Roy was bom and raised in Westboro, Ottawa.

He met his wife at Teachers' College in Kingston and he later completed a Bachelor's of Education degree and a Master's of Education degree at the University of Ottawa. In addrtion to raising his children with Jean in Ottawa, Roy was a dedicated teacher with the Ottawa School Board and then a well-respected Principal for over 25 years. He was also highly involved with his Church, Alta Vista Baptist and later the Metropolian BUe Church. Roy will be missed by everyone who had the good fortune of knowing him. Visitations and a Memorial Service will be held at Hulse, Playfair McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, later in the year, when circumstances allow.

A notice will be published in the Ottawa Citizen. Roy will be interred at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Friday May 14, 2021. On the morning of Sd Saturday, May 8th, 2021, lrjj jj Jennifer Weldon, mother of Steven Samantha McClelland, the daughter of Harry the late Helen Weldon, sister loving aunt of many more, succumbed peacefully of her battle with cancer.

At 58 years, she was a recently retired proud public servant of 35 years who loved gardening, camping baking. Always went above beyond to help those close to her regardless of her own personal challenges. Her presence will be greatly missed. Arrangements will be made at a later date. A Kingston girl at heart and one that preferred living life on the sunny side of the street Barbara Marie Doolan Underwood, 90, wife of the late Frank Underwood. So loved and admired by her two daughters Mary Jo and Pat Barbara was all about family, crazy about her grandchildren Jack and Hanna Glover, her sons-in-law Peter Carisse and the late Peter Glover, and her beloved sister, the late Loma Mavety. Always singing, always wise and welcoming. An old favourite and fit tribute: 'Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day and I've got a beautiful feeling, everything's goin' my way. TCOLE I'UNERAL PRITCHARD, Gail Elizabeth (nee Morris) October 14, 1937 May 7, 2021 Passed away peacefully on May 7, 2021 in Ottawa at the age of 83.

Gail was predeceased by her devoted husband, John Robert Pritchard (August 15, 2012) who she married in Ottawa in 1961. Gail grew up in Ottawa with her brother Bill and sister Beverly in a musical family where she learned piano and violin from her mother, and this became a lifelong passion where she played in the Parkdale United Church Orchestra with all members of her family for many years. Her married life took her all over the world with John as they followed his work wherever he was assigned, and they raised four boys while living in places as far afield as Germany, Italy and Colorado. Ottawa however was always home. Gail had a passion for her gardens, travel, and the Montreal Expos, and she gave freely of her time in fostering many babies over the years.

Gail did not let a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis eariy in her life prevent her from raising her four boys, and enjoying her gardens, her pool and travel. Gail and John shared almost 52 years of happily married life and in their retirement, they traveled extensively, enjoying many cruises to exotic locations. They were also long standing members of City View United Church. Gail was predeceased by her father Stuart, mother Olive, sister Beverly, and son Geoff. She is survived by her brother Bill, and her three children Gordon (Rainbow), Ian (Melody), and Steve (Theresa).

She will be sadly missed by her two grandchildren Christopher and Robert The family thanks the staff at the Salvation Army Ottawa Grace Manor and the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital for their long term care. There will be no celebration of life or visitation at this time, and cremation has taken place. She is the sister of Bill, Gaye, Jack and Leila. She is the ex-partner of Wirf Voakes (deceased) and mother of James (Jimmy), Kyle and Kurt (twins) Voakes of London, Ontario. Sister-in-law of Frank D. Parisotto of Sudbury. Beverly trained at the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital in Ottawa and became a Registered Nurse.

She loved her cats and loved sewing. She passed from cancer in a London Hospice. Rest in Peace Frank and Gaye Trumley-Parisotto, Ottawa.
