Washer Load of Baby Clothes Fills Dryer A washer load of baby clothes usually makes a dryer load. Sorting is not necessary before transferring to the dryer unless woolen items are present, in which case they should be removed and dried separately as tumbling with the heavier cottons may cause shrinkage. Diapers dry soft and fluffy. However, slightly more shrinkage must be expected in gauze-type diapers than when line dried. This is no disadvantage as it makes for greater absorbency per square inch.
